It would be one thing if the cable companies cut your rate if you were willing to leave a channel of your wifi open to the public, but they don't, so fuck em.
Time Warner does the same thing, I go in and disable that shit ASAP.
Several years ago, Time Warner would charge you EXTRA if you wanted the wifi on their default cable modem turned on, they would disable it unless you paid them an extra $5 a month or whatever. I didn't care, I always used my own(better) router anyways. Now they want you to leave their wifi on as a residential hotspot, and not give you anything for it. Hell no.
