Google Fi looks like a fucking rip off? $10 a GB? Suck my dick you clowns
It depends. They credit you back if you don't use it, and since I regularly don't use much of anything because I have wifi 99% of the time, I get credits of over $9 a month. Better than paying X amount because you want a security blanket (or because that's the lowest plan they have) and then never getting any of it back when you don't use it all. Or getting raped if you go over the amount you picked that month.

My plan literally costs me $21 a month plus whatever fees. Works great for me, not so great if you use a ton of data.

speaking of Samsung, don't buy the Galaxy s7. it's a piece of shit. i got it at launch and the battery is so bad at this point that I have to charge it at least twice a day. wish this fucking thing would catch on fire so I could get something that isn't shit.

I've had mine since release and I can still occasionally go 2 days without charging. WTF did you do to your phone? Are you using some piece of shit Chinese knock off charger fucking up your battery with Adaptive Charging?

Project Fi Group Plans are here! Introducing Project Fi’s group plan Pretty much $5 off any additional line and one easy to understand bill.

Update: Adding a non-member or member of Fi is easy and all that is required is sending an invite from your account to the person you want to invite gmail account. Added my wifes account and accepted the invite in a matter of a minute or two. Very hassle free. Her account automatically closed and switched over to mine.

Samsung called it quits on the phone, stopped production.

Before phone costs, right?

Fucking Note 7 has become a giant pain in the ass. I upgraded when we switched my wife's line over to my account because it got us her S7 edge for free. Sprint can't figure out how to exchange it according to policy yet, so I'm still using a grenade. I would rather just bail and go to Fi, but it would mean convincing Sprint to refund both phones. It was done as a promotion, so it's not the most unreasonable thing in the world, but I know it'll be a long argument.

Depending on how much your early exit penalties are, it might be worth it to eat the cost if you figure out the difference between the two options and work it out to the end of the contract. Unless the cost of exiting is more than the savings you'd make over the same period, then it's probably worth it. You should still try to get a refund, even if it's a small amount, but you go into it with the peace of mind that it's more of a savings instead of an absolute necessity.

It's one of their newer plans where the exit penalties are paying for the phones. I've been with sprint for 10+ years and don't mind sticking with them further. I just don't like any of the currently available handsets. The S7 edge is close to a note 7, but it's not the same and I don't like it as much. If they want to give me one now while I wait and see what else hits the market, fine. I'd even keep my service with them and just buy a Pixel myself, but if I do that they'll yank the discount on my wife's S7 edge. The whole fiasco has put me in an annoying and awkward position.

Yea we bought our phones (Nexus 6) out right a year ago just as the new Nexus phones were being released. I believe at the time they were around 350 each with an instant rebate.

When we left Verizon almost 16 months ago we were paying around $160 a month, last month on Fi together we payed $56. That is going to be around $2500 over a 24 month contract.

I just found out I'm getting a corporate phone when I switch jobs, so I might not even need my line. I'd keep a Fi line just to have a backup, but I sure would love to save that cash.

how bad is Fi service relative to verizon? Thats the only reason i am nervous about switching. I live in los angeles, so a developed area.

I would imagine in a place like LA you are going to have no problems at all. I had some quirky issues with it switching properly between Wifi and Cell service, but once I got that resolved I have had zero complaints. I am in the Bay Area, so I would imagine you would have a very similar experience.

I would wager I am on T-Mobile around 90% of the time (when not on WiFi of course). Not sure what the breakdown would be in LA

We are in the Atlanta metro area, zero issues with the service. I live about 40 miles outside Atlanta and no where near an interstate where most towers are located and have great service. I dont have any dropped or garbled calls.

So have note 7 and was trying to decide between s7 or the pixel XL, and think I'm just going with the s7. I gave no hate or ill will towards Samsung and the s7 isn't garbage, as some have put it. Given its nearly identical stats to the Note 7 and I can keep my edge screen, that's cool.

Just not that impressed with the pixel stats.

Isnt the Edge 7 basically a Note 7 without the pen?
