So Barca can appeal the ruling and their appeal is based on the fact the rules shouldn't apply to them since they are special. As much as I like Barca that's a joke, sounds like they are just playing for time to at least add a bunch this summer as otherwise they'll have no depth next year sans whatever the academy can produce. If Valdes doesn't want to resign then it would be a disaster if the ban stands this summer.

You can sign whenever you want but you can only register the change with FIFA during the accepted transfer window. If FIFA won't accept the registration change request then you're kind of fucked. Again I think Barca's model is amazing and I doubt any of the kids involved are being mistreated, probably far from it, but I can't see how they are going to win this argument.

So are the FIFA charges to be blunt...

Some even say, this is just Blatter getting back at Platini for his last weeks comment about Blatters obvious corruption.

BTW, SZ claims the Ter Stegen transfer will happen.

I do like how it was an ex Real Madrid president who was part of the commission that brought the charges against Barcelona. No conflict of interest there whatsoever.

I get it, Barca is certainly not forcing these kids into slave labor or something. They are moving into Barcelona and having everything provided for, sounds pretty rough.....

The rules are the rules though, they knew about the issue as it sounds like it was brought up originally over a year ago. If they knew they were breaking the rule, even if in spirit they were not, then they should have cleared it with FIFA first. English teams are poaching some of their best young players due to contract differences between the two countries but I don't recall LFC signing anybody from Asia or America under 18, nor any other academy so I don't think this is as widespread as Barca is saying.

No, but it's one thing to claim "no to racism" and "respect" before and after every game in those commercials, but then it's all out the window when the Germans are playing your clubs.

Well the Mirror is owned by the same company that owns the Liverpool Echo so it's always been fairly Merseyside friendly. The fact that its consistently been anti-Conservative and pro-Labour (like most of Liverpool) is a plus
