Ramsey sent off, can't ever recall that happening. Still think Arse will go through next week but these first two real performances sure are disjointed. I think I'd take Ward-Prowse over Smokin English Jack at this point.

The Net spend of United since the Glaziers took over (9-10 years give or take) works out about 22 million a season.

Football Season Purchases Sales Net Spend
2005 2006 19,500,000 18,500,000 1,000,000
2006 2007 18,600,000 14,500,000 4,100,000

2008 2009 35,750,000 2,000,000 33,750,000
2009 2010 21,000,000 85,500,000 (64,500,000)
2010 2011 27,200,000 13,650,000 13,550,000
2011 2012 52,900,000 14,750,000 38,150,000
2012 2013 63,000,000 11,900,000 51,100,000
2013 2014 67,700,000 1,000,000 66,700,000
2014 2015 56,000,000 8,300,000 47,700,000
Total spent 218,100,000

This 'last 5 transfer windows' statistic sounds arbitrary and masks the real damage done by the Glazers and the under-investment that has gone at this club for a long time now, mostly masked by the decent squad at the time, which has now all aged and retired.

Considering they have taken almost 1 Billion OUT of the club via debt repayments and selling 10% of their shares, shows you how fucking disgusted the fans are with them.

Brando might be a dirty scouser cunt, but at least he is doesn't post utter meaningless shit like you.

Actually I think the last 5 transfer windows is very prescient in that up until then you either won the league or were 2nd during that whole time frame you are quoting. So a lack of spending certainly wasn't an issue from a domestic standpoint and now that you are having real domestic league issues you are actually spending more than anybody. ManU has to replace Vidic, Rio, Evra, Scholes, Giggs and more yet instead of making sure they have solid bodies and following through on Rednose's plan to move Rooneh on they doubled down on him and aimed stupidly for players that were either out of reach or way overpriced for what the were.

Ya ward prowess has been playing like jack should be playing. Awful match, giroud wilshere and arteta looked real weak links. Team still looks 2 players short at least

Glad to see Barca's xfer ban upheld today. Won't be able to buy again until Jan 2016 (they do have a few more weeks in this window). Hearing utterances that they are going to try to buy Reus and loan him back to BVB for the year - wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see that happen sadly. Either Barca or Bayern for him imo.

I think I'm slowly coming round to the signing.

?16m is a bargan, especially when you consider Shane Long cost ?12. He's 24 so will still have resale value if it doesn't work out.

My only concern is that Suarez might have been mental but he gave 120% 100% of the time. Balotelli is nowhere near as consistent.

Plus if it comes off:

United: Shaw, Herrera, Rojo - ?76m
Liverpool: Moreno, Lambert, Lovren, Manquillo, Can, Balotelli, Markovic - ?72m

In other news, Paul Scholes appears to be losing itPaul Scholes 'scared' that Manchester United are heading into wilderness | Football | theguardian.com

"I feel it is time for major change. What do United need? Five players. Not five players with potential. Five experienced players . for now. Five proper players who can hit the ground running and turn around a situation that looks desperate. United's forwards are as good as any team in the league. The problem is what comes behind them.

"My five would be: Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Rapha?l Varane, Angel Di Maria and Mats Hummels. It would be one very big cheque for Real Madrid, given that four of them would come from that club. It would be hard to land them all. But that is the level that United need at this stage of the transfer window."

He's obviously living in the same fantasy land as most UTD fans, if he thinks that 5 world class players at CL clubs would take the step down to UTDs level.

I'm just laughing right now as peoples reactions are just so wide ranging to shock and horror to outright glee. The fee or wages isn't the concern, more how he'll fit in with what sounds like a pretty tight knit team. I don't believe for a second he'll be ready to play against ManC but then again coming off the bench if we need goal, he could certainly do it.
