I'm 100% sure EQNext is done for. I highly doubt they even have anything done on the game that isn't just stuff for Landmark. I have a feeling they are going to Cancel EQ2,Cancel Next, Release Landmark as Minecraft and just coast with that they have there.

Yeah... look at my response to that moment as well. I explained that a lot of times the "name change" is said just to get the papers done and legalities out of the way. Once everything goes through, leases are let go, people are pink slipped, and everything changes and changes quickly.

As I said to him, I personally saw this happen less than a year ago. "Name change" lasted less than 30 days and then you got an offer to move from KY to Atlanta, GA or find another job.

Can't say I didn't tell him something like this would happen.

I think they will still try to salvage EQ Next, its like the only thing that company has of value. Fuck even the EQ IP is pretty much worthless now because its been drug through the mud for the last 12 yrs. wh the fuck wants to buy that shit?

Doubt it. Landmark isn't profitable in and of itself. EQN is the product that is going to Day-make or Day-break the company.

As much as I would like to see them make EQNext, I kinda hope they reboot the idea again because I really don't think it was going in an attractive direction. I think they should attempt to find out what they have in their possession first before developing anything new. I'm not sure they even know what they're hold on to at this time. I'd say they'll coast and making some find of future game announcement next year at a rebranded Fan Faire or something.

Honestly, SoE needs some clean up and disaster control. It's been a mess much longer than people want to give it credit. Maybe people just didn't care enough to discuss it. SoE and their entire catalog was mediocre at best.

Not to be a dick or anything, but the writing was on the wall. why would they buy SoE and just keep it like the old SoE? Does not compute.

I'm sure it is. That team was TINY by comparison to EQN/LM and the only three people that were getting paid for work that didn't actually involve building the game in some capacity are Smedley, Greg Henniger (community manager), and Steve George (producer.)

My guess is that Greg is let go (he wasn't doing shit anyway), 50/50 odds on Steve George, and Smed (obviously) stays. The rest of H1Z1 isn't going anywhere.
