So they say it will be business as usual, with 40% less peeps, lol.Daybreak_sl said:As part of a strategic decision to rationalize the business, Daybreak Game Company announced today that it will eliminate positions in both its San Diego and Austin studios. This alignment of resources better positions the newly independent studio for future growth opportunities and developments, including delivering on its legacy of making top online games and establishing a solid foundation for future multi-platform success. These reductions will not affect the operation of current games and the company will continue on its mission to partner with its player community to drive the future and push the boundaries of online gaming.
dude has a solid, and long fork tongue.FWIW, comments over on SOE's forums and MMORPG's comments, in addition to the already mentioned Reddit comments, were also very pro-Dave. Feeling more like RR is the outlier in thinking Dave is stupid.
It is calledMassively Overpowerednow
Lawl, geez guys, I was just making a joke. I'm aware of their kickstarter and new site
A lot of rumors atm, butGeorge Broussard on Twitter:"Heard as much as 40% to half. Will see what details emerge."
Time to update your avatar....again.To me if you (Nova) believes SoE has been poorly managed or whatever, Georgeson isn't the only one to blame. In my opinion, if Dave goes then Smed should go as well. I never really cared much for him anyway. There has been times I thought he was a really douche though he was quite good with the H1Z1 rollout.
So true... guess i'll work on that tonight.Time to update your avatar....again.
Before the Screenshot feature costs 25 station cash per click.Gonna log into EQ and EQ2 tonight to take screenshots of my favorite places before they get shut down
From EQ and EQ2 Creative Director and awesome fire dancer Akil "Lyndro" Hooper's facebook (a public post):
Sitting in a room, getting laid off with some of the brightest and most talented developers I've had the pleasure to work with.
No idea what comes next, but if history holds true I'm sure that it will be fun.
From programmer @Douglastweets (Endymion) who added Gear Sets to EQ2, helped EQ2U and Dragon's Armory on Census stuff, and a host of other code needs for the EQ2 team including the planned Public Quests which were supposed to be released this summer with Game Update 71. on Twitter:
It was fun everyone. Time to update my Twitter profile. again.
this was probably my one stint in the games industry. I don't want to go back to Seattle either.
From Aaron "Gnobrin" Bisnett's facebook, who had been producing every piece of armor and weapons for the last several years, and is just a fantastic guy.
Well. That was a good run in game development. Thank you for the last 12 years, SOE.
