There's always 2 sides of the story. That said WWE does seem like a shitty company to work for sometimes as a wrestler. Them not offering any kind of medical insurance should be illegal. Their writers have the attention span of a gnat sometimes. And their wrestlers being classified as independent contractors is such a massive load of shit. I really can't blame him for leaving but I'm sure he didn't help matters along the way either. I sure wouldn't complain if he came back at some point though.

Punk came across as a gigantic cunt on that podcast. I still don't know what to think about all that.

I am not cancelling the network. I love watching old PPVs while I do cardio. Reigns will turn out to be okay and I will be surprised if the match with him and Lesnar isn't good. I'll be satisfied as long a they get Bryan into a good feud. I also wouldn't mind an Ambrose heel turn/Ziggler feud.

I am sure Reigns will need just 1 Superman punch to take him out too. Unlike the 3 AA's and the Curb Stomp from Rollins that didn't do it.

I think he was really honest on that podcast. He admitted to being an asshole which I thought was big, and likely a contributing factor to some things. The issue is perhaps that HHH is still of the "big man" mindset that Vince loves and thought Punk didn't put enough effort in to changing his body shape to get some more definition and size but I always find that a bullshit way of thinking...if that mindset was through the history of pro-wrestling then we'd never have had Dusty as champ, or Yokozuna, or Shawn or Bret or Flair etc. I always find wrestling more interesting with a range of body shapes and sizes since it seems more like a real fighting sport then and makes it easier to suspend belief. Yeah I get people say it's unrealistic to think someone like Rey could beat Big Show or DB can beat Lesnar but boxing, K1, UFC and real combat sports have shown time and again that gameplan or ability can help overcome size differentials so I can buy those matchups and accept a small guy beating a bigger guy IF the smaller guy is shown to be skilled or a great thinker and that is where WWE falls down currently, they just aren't doing enough to develop characters or their motivations.

I think the SCSA podcast with Vince showed where Vince's head is when he claimed that the belt doesn't really mean anything. They really need to get back to the basics of one guy is champ, everyone else is trying to get it off him unless there is some personal issue that arises between 2 guys that makes them want to fight (eg heel treating woman badly, white knight comes to rescue), once you do that there is half the character development done as we know what's driving someone and then it's about getting their personality to connect. I think they also need to go back to selling PPV's on the matches, build to them and get us invested as opposed to going "ok, people will buy Fastlane next month so who cares who's in it". We don't see UFC relying on just the event name, they actually promote the main event and try to make it the reason people buy the event and WWE used to do that but I think the only event that really can sell itself based on the name is WM and the buy-rates show that.

On a total tangent...

WTF does it take for Ziggler to get a major push? Fucker works hard, great on the mic, and gets pops like a big babyface. He's not huge but he is in no way small. GD man this company had The Miz hold multiple titles and defend a belt at WM. And Zig can't?

Got no idea. I thought they had him primed after that Survivor Series match

I thought he was honest, even if he was a little too bitter, but he opened with stating that he was bitter and OK with that. Nevertheless, he paints HHH as a guy who only puts over those in his clique (pun intended), and that WWE drives these guys until they burnout, break or die. None of these statements should be surprising. But it also tells you why Cena comes back from pec tears in like eight weeks, or abiceps tear in a few weeks. That stuff takes six months or longer to heal. But to listen to Punk tell it, Vince called him while he was being wheeled out of the hospital after surgery, to tell him to come back in a few weeks. Also, re: Cena, Punk said he liked Cena and he was a worker. Supposedly, in the last ten years, Cena never complained once about the stuff Vince has made him do. Also, LOL at him trashing Ryback like that.

It did come across as overly bitter, when you see that Punk has been able to do things like host music awards and write Marvel comic books, due to his success at WWE. Also, for a guy worth $10 million, you'd think he'd find something positive to say. Although getting fired on your wedding day is a bit much.

Zig oversells. He's been concussed so many times, but how many times have you seen him get hit by a clothesline and go flying, and wonder if that caused the concussion? That's unchampionlike, as far as Vince is concerned.

Obligatory

I don't blame CM Punk for being fired.. when it comes down to it, he walked out like a bitch. If he was in pain and shit then he should have taken a leave or something. but this was really about him having to have a match with HHH and not headlining WM. I take all his stuff with a grain of salt, just like I would anything coming from WWE on the matter. But yeah, he's overall pretty ungrateful considering he'd still be doing independent bookings and his body would probably be in way worse shape than it was when he left WWE.

As for Ziggler, he's a product of his own fuck ups. He lost the IC title belt because he booked a comedy show without telling WWE. He's done lots of little things to keep himself held back, not that he deserves the treatment he gets. He's entertaining to watch and gives his all in the ring.

The other thing making the rounds is that you can't invest in him, because he's snakebit with injuries. As soon as he builds momentum, he's out.

Yeah there was certainly some bitterness there but I think a lot of it was justified and a lot of his stories were along the same lines as others have complained or shot about regarding Vince and HHH, Cena is a fucking beast with his recovery times though.

Looking at the opportunities he has now I can see your point but then I think of the offers he talked about getting and them being given to other people and I can see his point about being held back too. I still don't see why wrestlers aren't allowed to have outside sponsorship on their gear, if it doesn't compete with WWE sponsors, if they are truly independent contractors (lol) as it brings them extra income and could get more eyes on WWE product from people thinking "well this brand I like sponsors this wrestler, I might check them out to see why".

Brock had Jimmy Johns logos on his trunks at Royal Rumble.
Punk whined about that with Colt Cabana. Ultimately, Punk's gotta do Punk. Even though he will probably lose badly in UFC, he will likely get a big pay day and I think that will make him happy for now.

Considering Lesnar has kicked out of multiple doses of all the big moves, what would happen if Reigns hit Lesnar with a F-5?

And ironically, he'll have gotten a big paycheck while being a part timer. He's bitched about that for years.

Soo how long til he comes back as a part timer? Vince is known to bury the hatchet when there is money to be made.

He won't be back till his UFC contract runs out which is at least 2 years if not longer.

there's a pretty good chance Bryan would be killed in front of 60,000 people if he wrestled Brock at Wrestlemania given his weak neck and Brock's general disregard for the safety of his opponents.

Does Lesnar still botch moves and hurt his opponents? That's what I liked about him before. He was so strong, athletic and fast and so new to wrestling and generally seemed unconcerned with his opponents that you never knew who he was going to hurt on a given night.
