Punk killed AEW's aura and they still haven't recovered. It's a shame because for a while it felt like a legit place making a run at WWE's crown, now it just feels a bit pointless and very exposed.

Hopefully that dickweed Punk doesn't main event WM against Cody. I'm hoping for the rumored Cena vs Cody, which on paper appears to be Cena passing the torch to the next fan-favorite good guy superhero, but in practice could end up being the catalyst for Cena finally turning heel to defeat Cody and hold onto his spot because he "deserves it". Which is infinitely more interesting than every other option for WM.
Absolutely, I think the problems were always there but he exposed them.

Worse than the two fights, sacking and backstage footage, I think he caused a lot of damage before that speaking his mind backstage about the issues with the indy/japan talent.

They had issues from the start in how to present people, like NJPW "Cleaner" Kenny never appearing and instead having casual attire.

They had issues with storylines not being explained, like why Butcher and Blade attacked Cody or being way too slow, like anything with The Elite/Hangman.

They had issues with people being cooled down after getting hot, like Wardlow.

If they mostly kept failed WWE guys away then this wouldn't have happened.

Interesting that when AEW beat NXT, AEW brought the NXT guys they beat in, now WWE is bringing in AEW guys who beat them.

Punk was big-leaguing the place from the minute something pissed him off, and a generally toxic guy to work with. TK should have had him put over MJF and finish that feud when he came back, instead of having him go over even more guys on the way to his inevitable ditching the place. It's like TK was afraid to ask him to put anybody over or something. Punk never lost the world title, which to me did more damage to AEW than Hogan not actually losing at Starrcade 97 did to WCW. If anything it reminds me of when Bret got injured and retired without losing the WCW world title. Breaking title lineage is a bigger blow than people realize.

Putting aside Punk being a general dick who people really kinda just wanted to leave (and it was mutual) later on, a lot of the stuff he said about the company was true and exposed it for being a more rinky-dink operation than anybody wanted to think or admit. Him saying that stuff publically probably did the most damage of anything, but combine that with him going over the entire roster and leaving with the title and the whole thing was just a goddamn wash.

Dude got a $25 million contract (over five years) plus merch and proceeded to drop trou and shit all over AEW. Some deserved, some not, either way the place ain't the same now and I doubt anybody backstage really expects them to be competition again. They're basically the new TNA, while TNA itself is now functioning as WWE's unofficial feeder like ROH did ten years ago. In essence, the industry's back to its normal level where WWE is generally uncontested. At least WWE's better now, competition does that.

No idea but I heard his partner is gay. I don’t follow AEW. I YouTube’s max clips. And he was posting on bodybuilding.com for a long time. He didn’t discuss politics but he loved rap music, wrestling (Dolph Ziggler fan), and lifting heavy. I remember the movie BeBe’s Kids and Class Act (kid n play) he watched in spare time we made references to those movies and the Martin sitcom when posting.

All you BB guys are gay cucks though, it's all over your thread.

Actual masculinity would be using your body for some sort of goal and not vanity muscles.

I liked wrestling more when people weren't pretending the female division is interesting.

Girl matches used to be the unspoken "bathroom break" of the live show. Now they make up 50% of the show and the crowd never gives a fuck about them. The lot of them are all typically shit performers, terrible at hiding their choreography, and generally fucking awful on the mic. They care more about their outfits and their little intros than any in-ring athleticism.

I get it - the writers are to blame for some of it, sure. Though it's hard to write interesting material when you have such a lackluster cast.

Anyone know where I can watch this new WWE LFG show that just started on A&E? I don't have cable. Guessing I could probably add A&E to a streaming device (not sure if it's a streaming service or if it's still just a cable network...)

A&E's website looks like I can watch it on there by subscribing to the site, but I have to wait a day before I can stream it, which is kinda dumb. I'm sure it's online somewhere.

Gotta hard disagree here. On AEW, the two highlights of recent programming were A) Toni Storm and Mariah May's innuendo-filled lesbian relationship where they alternately love and hate each other, leading Toni to go find herself after Mariah's inevitable betrayal and then return to reclaim the women's world title in her hometown in a bitter grudge match. B) Harley Cameron's quest to be seen and respected for her myriad talents leading her to challenge Mercedes for the TBS title and attempt to go from being nobody to being somebody by defeating someone already at the top of the mountain.

Don't know what WWE women are doing (except that Lyra Valkyria is hooooooooot) but I'll attest that in the two storylines above, the audience DID care and was invested.

it was a healthy hobby: high protein bb staple foods, supplements, and lifting 3-5x a week depending on what phase and split you’re in.

we as said Ricky Starks posted there too. We also had one of ours ger destroyed by Kane on smackdown.

cesaro and Jackie Gayda stopped by and Lodi in the past who was a Steve corino fan put him over as the best bleeder ever.

Stopped reading there.

In WWE, the women have some standout talent. Even though many of them are being wasted on poor writing/storyline. Chelsea Green is must-warch TV at this point in her career. And Nia Jax ability to sell for women half her size is impressive.

I like women have to train as hard as men now. In Japan Joshi wrestlers often had phenomenal brutal matches for decades. It took them awhile to get it right in the states.

The best women are as good as the best men, there are times when they have the best storylines going and have been for a few years.

The worst women are far worse than the worst men. Some of them have no personality and come across as empty headed bimbos reading a shit script. The men like this just bulk up and shut their mouths to look intimidating, but women can't do this.

These people leak into the mid card way more for the women too.

Iyo Sky is ugly.

There are a lot of great women wrestlers. Chelsea Green and Toni Storm are, in my opinion, far and above some of the best women's talent in the mainstream right now. Watching some of Greens matches outside of the US you quickly realize just how great she is, and Storm is wasted in AEW and gets lost in the shuffle in WWE due to their roster size just being too large. At some point, WWE will need to decide if they want to scrap part of their women's division or just be done with the tag team division because there's just not enough screen time for everything. Right now it seems like they are prioritizing the women's division, and that's fine...but its left the tag division in shambles, not talent-wise, but storyline and making the fans care-wise.

I'm pretty annoyed at them putting Charlotte into the Wrestlemania slot over more deserving talent after being gone for so long. I like Charlotte, but she's far from an innovator at this point and you know what you're gonna get in her matches, and as shes gets older, she seems to make more and more mistakes as well.

They need to put Alexa in the main event at WM, where she just shows me her butthole for 3 hours.

So glad that hottie is back.

Is judgement day set to screw balor and add a new member
Release Finn Balor to AEW with his midget boyfriend, only been watching sporadically but seems like Dominik and Liv are the draws of the group.

I'd like to see R Truth bring Damien Preist back into the group.

Never could buy into to Finn. But he does participate in some insane matches. I also dont see the draw of Dominik other than him being a Mysterio. Every match with him is so boring and just doesnt do much. I get that his schtick is to just be the punching bag for everyone. But he just does random matches that make no sense and he losses.

The only chance Finn has at getting back to the main event scene is ditching the Judgment Day (all factions besides the Blood Line are mid-tier at best) and going back to the Demon.
