Reality? Pfft. This is the future and humans are still fighting inside vessels in real time and within the confines of human eye sight. While in reality, they'd all be drones firing energy/kenetics from vast distances that could only be calculated by Mauddib or a computer.

I know you're just joking around, but it's been explained in lore that the AI in our helmets and ships simulate sounds in space because it helps humans react/cope.

All the sounds are being simulated by your helmet. Most of the UI is projected on the helmet visor and isn't part of the ship either, at least on most of the single seat ships.

That's what cracks me up about SC taking itself to incredibly seriously. I would've preferred the answer, "You hear explosions in space because fuck you, that's why."

As for the anti-grav stuff, I can only assume that anti-grav requires less energy than maintaining rotational momentum in a vacuum.
