Okay, legit question, is Star Trek always going to fall back on the mirror universe storyline?

So fucking old.
All science fiction is falling back on the mirror universe concept. Its like Time Travel but this way you can make anything happen with a simple logic.

Pretty much. Star Trek usually handles it two ways:

1) TOS version ofMirror Verse (Terran Empire)

2) Alternate timelines

The first one they only dabbled with it in ToS, DS9, and Enterprise. But all the shows have done alt timeline stuff. Like Yesterday’s Enterprise (Q even name drops it).
