I'm having fun. Probably enough to pay $60 for launch. If it's anything like past BF games, I put 100-200 hours in , and then log in on occasion, which is well worth the $60 for me(better then spending it on some silly crowdfunding). Though hopefully the cards/unlocks are more in depth, doesn't take long to have everything they have in beta.

Messing around with luke/vader is so much fun.

I still want a Endor map, where its 20v20 and everyone is on speeder bikes. With tons of trees, so idiots crash into them.

Well, played about 4 hours today. It's fun, but it isn't gonna hold my attention I don't think. Great for a couple of hours of dicking around, but not 60$ worth I don't think.

If the actual release has a lot more progression and a spawn system that isn't pants on head retarded then maybe.

The flying is...odd. Not like Battlefront 2 whatsoever. Not sure if it's a setting I didn't fuck around with or what, but the aircraft were turning slow as shit which made it insanely hard to pilot the speeder (even with my xbox controller) to tow cable the fuckin AT-AT's (which I saw no one do). There was one game where the rebels managed to get down an AT-AT but there was only enough time to get the 2nd one down halfway before we got shit on. On a related note, I went like 43-1 in an AT-ST one game.

Hopefully they have a ton more items you can end up buying in multiplayer, but the rifle + jetpack are pretty much mandatory. The third slot is up for grabs but the ion charge leads for 3rd. Will be fun to see what all they end up with. I played me the fuck out of some BFrontII.

Ya...went 40-3 or some shit in walker and cannon. No one targets the cannons for some reason. The cannons must have an AOE effect, because I was just close to dudes and killing em.

I loved BF3, was a bit burnt out by BF4, I thought this was going to be a day 1 purchase for me but the demo does nothing for me so at least props on them for letting us try before we buy. I'm surprised you can't blow up buildings, etc. Seems much more like CoD minus the killstreaks than it does BF.

As I've played a bit more this evening, I have found this game is not good for run and gunning. Better to sit back and plink people off from a distance. Also it's easier to not aim down sites, just hip fire, as there is no accuracy hit doing this.

I'm not a fan of the lack of vehicles. It would be nice if you could hop on speeder bikes and stuff to get around the maps. Anyone know if these types of things will be on the other maps? Other than that, it isn't too bad if you play the objectives, but it is definitely not even a shadow of what it could have been. People were worried it would turn out like Battlefield with SW skins, but I think it turned out to be something much worse. Someone said it's pretty much PvZ GW but with good graphics, which is pretty accurate really. I'll probably sit this one out until the sales in the $30 range. Even then, I can't see myself playing it over CSGO or BF4 much. I love the SW theme and graphics but damn the game just feels shallow.

If they haven't fixed the Hola check then chances are you can get it half off on release.

okay, anyone having issues installing this on PC? I download it using the stupid Origin program, and it downloads and says 100% then you can click install, but that does absolutely nothing at all. I track down the location of the exe, and when i double click it to install it, it looks for the damn origina pp!?
Is there some stand alone installer somewhere so i don't have to use this crappy origin thing. I've been trying for the past few hours and am finally throwing my hands up... any help is greatly appreciated.

In Origin, under Application Settings > Advanced > set your Downloaded games install location to somewhere that you have space and try that?

tried that, i have well over 1 TB of space on the last drive, clicking the install button just does nothing.

This is the origin installed, button when clicked is like clicking a link that goes nowhere....

this is the location of the game, the exe here when double clicked in windows 10 does tried to associate the file to damn origin again instead of just running as a damn exe

This seems pretty weak just in the number of maps. Game modes are OK but seriously one or two maps per mode? I'm sure they'll happily else release more as dlc just seems really weak.

Tell me that is beta only.

Played a couple hours this evening. Pretty fun, but without a single player campaign can't justify $60. Probably wait and pick it up on sale.
Pros: Smooth gun-play. Very pretty. Fun multiplayer when your team is winning.
Cons: Hoth map is imbalanced/Pubs are too dumb to play it properly. Co-op mode has low replay value. No single player campaign.

for those who haven't tried it yet, i'd still play and see if you like it. for all the negativity, the game is REALLY fun in small bursts or with friends. I played 2 hours of walker assault today (solo) and I had an insane amount of fun, and there are 5 more game modes that are not available in beta including fighter squadron mode and what looks like a FFA pvp map. Still, when you think of how amazing the OG battlefronts were and how much feels missing from this game its a bit of a bummer.

still, for $20-30 its imo going to be a fantastic game and you'll get a ton of play hours. at $60 its a little harder to say, especially if they start nickle and diming everyone with DLCs and stuff to turn the game into what it really should have been at launch.

the star wars immersion is really strong, i really felt like I was living the empire strikes back assault during my 2 hours of walker assault.

digital foundry's done an analysis of the ps4 version, it runs at renders at 1600x900 then upscaled to 1080 @ 60 fps most of the time. sometimes it drops to 50 fps in internal areas. My PC runs it fine too on a 680 but can't get 60 fps at ultra, have to drop the options down a bit.

I don't know what Battlefront 2 you all played but it was retarded simple and unbalanced as fuck. And fun as all get out too.

Not great to see all the mixed beta reviews
