I do like the fact that you find pieces (regardless of intentional or not) of previous Star Wars games. The toe-cable reminded me of Shadows of the Empire and felt some Tie Fighter moments in there too. It's easy to repeat aspects of the previous games because you're drawing from a universe that's been made and re-made through a lot of games but felt a little nostalgia regardless.

Imo considering the beta isnt a good representation of the game - if youre not preordering just wait until release and see peoples thoughts here - Beta isnt bad but its not great? its like slices of slices - you dont get much of what "will be"

I'm curious how they are going to divide the maps between all the modes and how many unlocks there will be. They have 12 maps and like 6 modes. Some of those modes will be a single map. Not sure how many TDM maps there will be but looking like 3 smaller maps out of those 12. Not sure how many unlocks there will be either. The walker mode is really unbalanced to the point of not really being enjoyable depending on what side you are on.
This game does looks like Star Wars. They got that part right. If it was any other universe or generic IP it would be mediocre to bad. So does the Star Wars theme save it? Probably not enough. I'm most likely passing on this. With Fallout releasing just before I see no reason to pick this up right away.

Its nothing more than a reskinned and dumbed/faster version of BF4. Pretty much a cash grab for the upcoming release.
Uhh, you realize the beta is free right now for every platform?? Just try it out and make your own mind up versus listening to over 40 year olds who are wrong about everything they say about the gaming industry aka Rerolled..

Best post in this thread. This was going to day 1 buy for me but I'm passing this up after playing the beta. Still playing Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 is right around the corner.

I'm not sure why all the comparing to BF games. This game is more like a "modern" Battlefront 2. Iirc that game was also "Easy" in the sense but fun as hell.
I'm on the fence myself. It's hard to judge just off the two maps and very limited progression(outside general feel/combat/ambiance, all 3 of which are great). Probably wait a couple weeks and see if the game goes deeper and how so and see what the other maps are like.
There's so much that could be done with game modes though, I wish someone would realize it. Things like speeder bike matches on endor, all Luke/Vader mode, maybe all droids mode etc.

As miserable as every loss it, it does sure make wins feel so much better.
The map could be very good, even if it remained Imperial favored. Rebels being punished for getting too many Y-Wings on first section sucks, however, knowing the map is over but there is still 10 minutes to go when you only get 3 on the first section is worse.

I'm curious of future upgrades will help that map? I know when I first clicked on it it specifically told me to "you should level up before trying to fight walkers" or some such.
I dunno though, I've been in enough games where rebels win first phase. I think it's a matter of everyone playing decently well, getting a good window of y-wings and concentrating fire on walkers. They go down pretty damn fast it everyone concentrates, and use turrets/power ups.
I will say though there should be some counter to the invincible AT-AT gunners. Maybe something like a Ion cannon that stops them from firing for x seconds/minutes. AT-STs go down fast with Ion shots/ion grenades and the lazer towers. Big problem is most people i've seen are all about "me" setups, with jetpack + personal shield, so they have nothing to combat AT-STs and usually sit on hill tops.

And? It doesn't play anything like Battlefield games, like I said its more comparable to Battlefront 2, which makes sense as its not really a game in the battlefield series.
