Star Wars: Battlefront, as told by Dice on Frostbite 3 (PS4?/XBone?/PC?)

It plays exactly like the last battlefront game. They are very arcadey. Nothing like Battlefield games and most likely not even meant to be(as much as players want and think it should be, a star wars skinned battle field type game would be cool though). I'd say my only complaint and something that seems to be true is character depth/progression is pretty light. It was pretty fun in beta, if I wasn't so involved fallout 4 atm I would of gotten it.

It's fun to watch the battles between "Hype" and the new edgy thing to do "anti-hype" people(especially the sheep the follow the latter). People take it like a personal insult if someone doesn't like a game like they do or hate a game like they do, it's quite hilarious.

So its a mix of Battlefield large scale battles and COD. Not really seeing the hype or the anti-hype. Its a fine game, but nothing special. Too many butthurt people.

Got to rank 11 since midnight. Too tired to continue playing. I foresee getting plenty of hours out of this game and at least some lulz with friends. Hard to say if its worth 60 or not but EA is gonna EA.

I think it's just brain numbing fun. There is no depth or real detail to the game. It's almost like going to an action flick. You turn off your brain, enjoy the explosions, and then at the end of the movie you realize nothing was really accomplished. I see no problem in that myself. I'm looking to play Final Fantasy or Zelda here. I want to jump into the Star Wars universe, which is beautiful in this game btw, and just blow stuff up.

I think people give themselves too much credit or maybe they're concerned with letting their guard down and having fun due to some potential negative perception of their sophistication and intelligence. Just have some fun and if you can't allow yourself to do that then you probably need to play something else. There's no big secret to this game. You probably need to like Star Wars and some watered-down FPS to enjoy this game. If that's not for you then that is totally ok... you don't have to fight or justify it. Rant off... sorry, ran into this discussion at work a few times lately.

The problem is this should have been a mod for BF4.

I don't necessarily disagree but way too much cash potential here. They had to package this a standalone. I honesty couldn't believe just how many people went ahead and bought the season pass. That's essentially $100+ for the game. Not to mention all the system and controllers I saw walk out the door last night.

I got it for 30 bucks for the PC, and it seems fine for that price point.

This game looks beautiful at max settings, and I'm getting no slow down whatsoever.

Makes me wish they had a Star Wars single player game like this.

They need to make more games in Frostbite 3.

Yeah, the forest map is absolutely stunning. I just snagged a 4K 40" monitor, and just was amazed on how well it considering the level of detail, and the battles that were going on.

yeah visually the game looks awesome, even on console, and really captures the star wars look and feel. But I compare it content wise to Call of Duty Black Ops 3, and its a total joke. The latter has a rich and fun SP campaign, the maps are more diverse, the game modes are more diverse, the unlocks/progression is far, far, far richer, there is a whole extra bonus zombies mode, and there is progression for both noobs (normal), vets (prestige), and hardcore (ranked play). Battlefront is just basically 3 or 4 game modes (a few varieties), 3-4 good maps and 4-5 meh maps, and some lame MP maps tweaked for offline solo play. The entire game is aimed squarely at me, the casual crowd who plays 1-2 hours a night and has a KDR < 0.5 and always plays solo. So great for me, sucks for anyone not like me.

Also game is rock solid 60 fps on PS4 in MP

I'm having a lot of fun with this so far. Not a fan of some of the game modes, but even shit like Hero Hunt is fun for a little while. I bought on Origin with Brazilian VPN for like $44 and definitely worth that or if you can get it cheaper at G2A. It's definitely got lots of crazy action going on all the time.
