They aren't going to make someone the head of a studio if they blow the return to the silver screen after the better part of a decade.
A lot of caution has been exercised by Disney regarding the films, and that extends to Filoni. He is under the highest amount of scrutiny.

Bro, it doesn't matter. There is no one at Disney capable of unfucking the last decade of terrible decisions. The top brass did not have a change of heart and decide to start listening to the fans, they have just decided to keep their heads down and not cheer on the shit that they still believe. If they had really turned a corner it would have started with Kennedy being fired and Iger releasing a statement saying that it was the poor performance and direction of the franchises that lead to this and he was stepping down as well. Since that didn't happen, well, Filoni as studio head wouldn't even be the worst decision they have made in the last 12 months.

It's good that he's lost that "savior of star wars" myth that some people had attributed to him but the original trilogy is the only thing more popular than Clone Wars and Filoni has a lot more hits than he has misses.

Outside of Rebels please tell me which ones were hits. He makes Star Wars for preteens. That is fine, but all of his adult shows are shit outside one lighting in a bottle season of Mandalorian.

disney earns about $1 billion in just merch from star wars every year and a year ago said its already made over $12b on the property in an annual investor statement. its been wildly profitable especially for the low price they got it.
the issue is they could be making WAY more money if they didn't have a bunch of retarded shitstains running the division. More movies, more theme park work would all contribute to more toys sold plus more video games, rides, costumes, conventions, comics, on and on. They could easily be making $4-5b a year on the IP but are closer to $2b which is the kind of thing that shareholders fire CEOs over

There were two good seasons of The Mandalorian, both of which he was involved in, and you not liking Ahsoka doesn't make it shit.
Not that I think Ahsoka was particularly good, it was at worst kinda meh and kinda meh is basically a home run in an era where we get shows like Kenobi and Acolyte.

Yea, Ahsoka was like a 5. It was half watchable slop. FAT thrawn was a disaster. Jesus christ get the man some 300 training if you're gdamn set to keep him live action. That still makes it way better than most of the other trash they put out. I'm fine with him making stuff, but I definitely don't think he should be the one in charge of things.
