These trailers all seem pretty dark; if they really reshot a ton of it to make a lighter tone then they are fucking idiots because the dark tone leading to A New Hope is obviously needed. All that said, the trailer makes me more excited for this than Episode VII.

That trailer went a long ways towards making a lie out of the reshoots rumors. Though we have to remember that it could have very well been crafted with just that in mind. All the same, I'm no longer worried about the tone of the film being off.

I don't understand why people get so worried about reshoots. ANY movie with that much money is going to do a rough edit during production while planning some kind of reshoot.

Ahhh. I honestly do my best to have a full media blackout about movies I really want to see (other than official trailers) so I didn't read any of those articles. I thought it was just rumors of reshoots in general. So essentially it was too dark? That actual sounds awesome if they thought they had to dial it back.

The Donnie Yen character makes me happy because (aside from DONNIE YEN) it shows that the Jedi/Sith are basically just churches or organizations dedicated to force users, but the force exists without them. They teased it a bit in VII but this looks full-on force use from neither group. Even if he "follows" the Jedi way, he isn't actually a Jedi.

I'm pretty consistent in poo-pooing on lazy ass Hollywood journalists and bloggers trying to make reshoots into some sort of story about a troubled film project. They're the norm for bigger budget movies today, unlike 20 years ago. It was the chatter about the purpose of the reshoots that raised my concerns.

I hope it continues to elaborate. I've been kinda worried that the Witches of Dathomir might not exist anymore with the whole canon flopping. I've always looked at Jedi/Sith as like Xavier/Magneto trying to recruit.

I've been working on a screen accurate Vader costume for a little over a year and I'm almost done. I am hoping to have it complete in time for Halloween and definitely in time for Rogue to hit theaters. I suited it all up for the first time last weekend.

That's is pretty fucking badass. If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? One thing that always bugs me about some Vader's is the dude inside is like 5'6" surrounded by 6'+ Stormtroopers.

I agree with you, I used to work with a great guy who had a killer star wars collection but he was just too short to be Vader. I'm 6'3" barefoot, about 6'7" with the boots and helmet. Not as tall as David Prowse but a decent height. There are 4 Vaders in town in the local 501st and one of them is taller than me. He is pretty damned tall.

It's cool if girls like the fact that they can look up to/identify with strong female characters in films, but what drives me crazy is that every time the topic comes up, decades of film history are ignored to push this false narrative that we're just now finally seeing strong female leads.
