Avatar 3D was really well done, but that is because Cameron filmed it with that in mind and with specialized equipment. The problem was is after they did really well, you had all the "me too!" dinks doing 3D conversions and gimmick 3D shit (lol! Knife fly towards screen!) and basically diluting the market with shit just so they could upcharge. 3D done well is actually pretty damn nice, the problem is most films just do it as an afterthought and makes the ticket not worth it.

There is actually a new 3d technology. We have it I believe on some of our screens in Austin.

I haven't seen it yet but it is supposed to get rid of the washed out look, and the tunnel vision/motion blurring.

I hate 3D tho so I hope it dies like the dinosaurs.

I thought 3D was a gimmick too. But here we are a decade later. It's here to stay and it's fucking stupid.

When I'm 80 it'll be the Hobbit and Harry Potter now on MotionSense4D by GooMicroApple which will require my old ass to walk through Diagon Alley with Harry to participate in the fucking movie just to watch it. Get off my lawn.

The advantage of 3D is that it causes theaters to run the major titles that use it on multiple screens to support both formats which in turn splits the audiences up and increases the chances that I can enjoy my 2D movie in an uncrowded theater with more empty seats and fewer people playing with their massive, overly bright phones the whole time like every red-blooded, self-respecting old fart should be able to do.

He really is an ugly actor tho, I guess that gives the movie a little more grit if one of the main heroes isn't an attractive person.

Pretty sure I read just after he was cast that he was someone George had strongly advocated for having a main role. That's the only thing about him that gives me any pause whatsoever, since I've never seen him in anything before.

As a hardcore Star Wars fan he should of been killed himself. The most iconic character in the Star Wars universe voice was done by a black man. Hell isn't Lucas wife black also? Good riddance to his ass.

When he was 17-18 he was picked up by HBO to star in a Mike Tyson origin mini/series. Pics I saw he looked fucking beastly and like him.

So maybe i'm arriving late on this one but the speculation was that it was Luke with R2 due to the robotic hand. However, by looking at this concept art, the hand and hood look like a perfect match?
