I assumed it was just that they were about to jump into some impossible situation completely outnumbered and against the odds. Stormtroopers are pretty zergy, that's different than being a handful of resistance prisoners hatching an escape plan or whatever's going on.

i got some spoilers on this from a friend who saw a screening over the weekend. read at your own risk:

- evil Jedi is Luke's son
- evil Jedi kills Luke at the end in a parallel to Vader killing Obi Wan
- Leia uses force powers at some point in the movie

sounds like BS, especially considering they are not doing screenings until after the world premiere next Monday.

Even still, I have ticket for the 17th but will most likely go on SW blackout starting this weekend. Too many douches with too much dumb shit and spoilers will start hitting right after the World Premiere Monday which means I will need to turn off the internet since I have no self control

LOL That's the theory I posted earlier in the thread except for the whole death part at the end.

It's hard to imagine JJ being able to resist the parallels of Kylo Ren following in Luke's footsteps by being raised by his Aunt Leia and Uncle Han. When he goes bad because of daddy-abandonment issues Abrams even has a chance of improving on Lucas' portrayal of Anakin's fall to the dark side.

I remember Abrams was very reluctant to take the job because he felt he wasn't up to it, but if there was a way to convince him, it would've been the studio asking him to make a better "New Hope" than Lucas'.
