Yeah I think something like this. Its clear in the scene with Kylo and Han that he hasnt been able to fully turn to the darkside. That the pull from both is "tearing him up".Yep you're right I hear it now.
So does Kylo save her from another Knight of Ren from killing her when the jedi students were slaughtered? Maybe thats why he feels like he needs to kill Han because of the pull of the light side has taken him before.
I think people are right, after he is seduced to the dark side, he and the knights of Ren ( who may have been other luke students) turn and kill the rest, but spare a young girl. Even in his turn Kylo was too torn by the light side to kill a child. He leaves her on a backwater planet telling her to stay htere and her parents will come get her some day.
DOwn the line that is why as soon as someone mentions that Finn is with a girl he gets angry and asks what girl. He knows there is a force sensitive girl on that planet and knows its going to be her.
Now is she his sister? Maybe. Maybe they make no mention of it because she is assumed dead. Could she be lukes daughter? Sure. She could also just be a young force user coming back into the fray. The fact that it seems like Luke had a full on Jedi school in some descriptions, yet Han says he was training one boy and one girl is odd. Maybe he did just have 2 students, or maybe he took two of Han and Leias kids.
I think in setting up an ultimate battle between Rey and Kylo, it makes more sense to have them be siblings with one killing their father than them being cousins. That makes her reaction to Hans death make more sense. And Leia wouldnt tell her because either she thinks her daughter is dead, and when realizing this is her and she doesnt know it, wouldnt say it to cloud her mind during jedi training or preventing her from going. The same way everyone hid the truth from Luke about Vader until he was ready, or realized it himself.
