I don't mind all the Indy titles showing up. And, since they almost never have any real marketing, it makes sense for them to be ready to give higher discounts more often, for the exposure.

But fuck the early access shit, fuck it in the ass. Greenlight process? fine. Early access process? fine. Kickstarter? fine.

But get the fuck out of my Steam flash sale, daily deal slots, and voting slots.

I'm not a fan of the early access stuff either. If a game is 95% done and you want to sell it as early access instead of doing an open beta, sure. Some of the early access games though are being sold full price, and they are basically early alpha builds that are borderline unplayable.

I think its been halfway decent sale, yeah there is allot of shit that keeps coming up all the time, but I still bought around 5 titles....

Injustice, Lego marvel, and some other games I wanted ,but are so low now its a crime not to get them.

This is what I don't understand about something like Dayz. It's early access, alpha and from what I read pretty broken at the moment, yet it's been the best seller ever day of the sale. I understand it has this cult following, but outselling every sale item? Either valve doesn't sell as much during the sale as we think they do or this early access game is selling millions of copies.

Top sellers are weekly or monthly I think
Starbound is still up there too.

Also, early access, and hasn't even had a sale. Although is new at least.

I think it's weekly, although it does change daily at least during the sale since sale items get moved to the top. The exception is Dayz, which hasn't moved from the 1 spot at all.

bought the swapper and euro truck simulator gold today, both are 75% off and look interesting enough for a few hours. when i looked at the euro truck home page it looks like they are developing a USA version which would be awesome to replay my smokey and the bandit dreams.

its bizarre to think I might enjoy playing a truck driver, but it looks like one of those games that just is weird enough to be really fun

the flash sales have been very disappointing though, its all weird indie shit or very low % off boring games

I loved The Swapper. It's really short though, so I wouldn't recommend it at the $15 full price point, but for ~$5 its great. If these guys did a Metroid game I'd go out and buy the WiiU today. The art/music/atmosphere is amazing.

I'm pretty sure their best seller list is based on the volume of $, not the actual units sold. So a $5-$10 game needs to sell 3-6X as many units to overtake it., and it's also a weekly tabulation pretty sure. Dayz has a large player base though and a ton of people who never played the mod and were just waiting for the standalone.

Bought my 100th game on Steam today. I believe the only game I spent full price on was Skyrim

Thanks to Steam Family Sharing and a few friends who spend way too much money on games, I recently passed the 650 game mark. 127 of them are actually mine, but that number is bloated with junk from bundles as well.

I might as well use this post to endorse Spelunky. Amazing game at the current price, but only if you have a controller.

Todays was really enticing to me.

almost bit on fallout:NV, spelunky, risk of rain, m&m6 and swapper.

Ended up holding back on all but swapper.

Risk of rain only 33%, I'll wait for lower, If I ever get it.
NV would have likely just went on my big list of games I have, but never got around to in the first place. like deus ex, dishonored, witcher 2, etc... haha. wasnt a huge fan of fo3 in the first place. or hell, games like skyrim which I still never actually finished.

Spelunkly was added to my checkout for a bit. but decided against it. played the demo back when. thought it was ok. Have heard amazing things SINCE then. but again, I have a big list, and would rather play more core roguelikes like dreadmor then platformers.
Its also a bit of a call for "I no longer feel like buying this game, having watched lets plays of it" and not because its a bad game.

heroes 6 also on the list of, I have 5, I have fallen enchantress, eardor, etc... never have time to play any of THEM either. stop buying games you dont have time to play. (was eying Europa Universalis the other day too..)

Is Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion worth it at 10 bucks? I owned/played a ton of the original Sins, how is this one different?

So you can buy Wizardry 8 for 1.89euros, or you can buy wizardry 6,7 and 8 pack for... 1.70euros. The fuck, why make such a shitty discount on 8 if you can buy it with 2 other games for less. Anyway hesitating to pick it up, I think I played a wizardry like many years ago but don't remember shit about it, not sure which it was but certainly not 8 since it was like in the 90s or so. Any opinion on wizardry, 6/7/8 are good games?

Wizardry 7 is one of my all-time RPG favorites. I played 8 some years ago and it was pretty good, but the fights could sometimes take forever and I lost interest after a few hours of it.
