Subscription everything? Fuck That. Netflix was great because they zigged when everyone else was zagging. However, now that everything is fragmenting into their own subscription services (very much like pre-bundling cable channels) how many can one really afford? Now apply that model to game publishers. And remember, netflix, hulu, et all rotate content too; you know game companies will do that same (we already see that in small ways with games falling off Stream, often due to song/media license expiring). You better hope you finished that game and all it's DLCs before they rotate out...
and if you like a particular years offering of Shooty Ball, Pro League? You really expect that future EA to leave the 2025 edition active after they release Shooty Ball, Pro League 2026?
For some small minority of people, who are masters of the Binge version of gaming, such subscription ideas might work out, as they burn through chunks of the catalog in a month, then unsub (and/or sub to competitor service) for the next period. The rest of us will just get fucked by such a "service".
