I like some aspects of Fallout 3's map that its clear were also intended in New Vegas but weren't implemented nearly as completely due to the short development cycle. Game mechanics wise and story line, New Vegas is vastly superior, I just wish Bethesda had given Obsidian two years or so to make the game so they could have fleshed out New Vegas proper more, made it bigger, with a more robust sewer section (Fallout 3 sewers make some mad, I liked them. Best part of the game in my opinion) as well as fleshing out some of the other areas that were virtually devoid of content or left out almost entirely (entire Legion region for instance).

If Obsidian had been given proper time, New Vegas wouldn't even be remotely comparable to 3, it would be so far superior.

Its still the better of the two games, though, hands down.

The big complaint that most people (that I know, myself not included) had with Fallout: New Vegas was that most of it was out in the open and it took away from the 'combing ruined cities' vibe that the earlier games had.

Given that I have 98 hours in Fallout 3 and 184 in New Vegas, I disagree. I loved New Vegas. I loved the companions. I loved the story. I loved the endings. I loved all of the DLC (Though Dead Money is 'meh' if you do not go in with a high Melee Weapon skill and Honest Hearts felt too short/rushed - Old World Blues was incredibly funny and Lonesome Road was just... amazing).

So far, picked up Scribblenauts Unlimited and that is it. Waiting for Dishonored to hit $10 and hoping (but not expecting) FarCry 3 will hit below the $20 mark.

well those people are A) morons and B) never played FO1 and FO 2. Those ruined cities were spread out.

With that said I still love FO 3 and plan on picking it up on steam during the sale if it hits like $6.

Saints Row the Third is a good game on it's own right. People who loved the first and second game were disappointed in it, but if you like GTA, it is a game in that style that is balls-to-the-wall crazy. I enjoyed my play of it, though like everything, it is more fun in multiplayer.

I thought Saints Row 3 was fun as shit. Not really sure it has much replay value though, or I'd buy a copy (torrented it originally).

Hot damn. Picked up Hotline Miami for $2.50 and a legit copy of Dark Souls for $7.50. Invasions at inopportune times here I come!

Are there any good games that would provide some multiplayer fun for 3-4 people on sale or that might be on sale? Not even sure what we are looking for at this point in terms of genre just something fun where we can quickly smash the shit out of each other. The best example I can think of is something Fuzion Frenzy-esque but it doesn't have to be limited to that style. I also have fond memories of playing tag in Midnight Club freeplay.

FC3 and Bioshock were both too expensive for my tastes. Pick up TWD though it is an enjoyable experience.

I am waiting on FarCry 3 still.

The Walking Dead is an amazing game. The new DLC (400 Days) that came out is short, but serves to bridge the gap between the current story and the upcoming 'second season' of the game.

Some 'hints' as to future games that are going to be on sale and what day, shamelessly stolen from a thread on MMO-Champ.

Images of the Post/Trading Cards

First day: BioShock Infinite
Second day: Chivalry
Third day: Dead Island: Riptide
Fourth day: Football Manager
Fifth day: Skyrim
Sixth day: Kerbal Space Program
Seventh day: Torchlight
Eighth day: Prison Architect
Ninth day: Reus
Tenth: Tomb Raider.

Is Farcry 3 really going to get under ~$24, though?

That and Civ 5 with the good DLC are the only things I really care about. What do you all think the low point for Civ 5 will be?

Yeah the game is great. Pick up the Slingshot DLC as well for a few more missions.

I got some kind of "Prison Architect" trading card-thing... I got one from Crusader Kings a while back too.

I can sell them for like 30 cents? How strange.
