New deals are up. Orcs Must die 2 or Dungeon Defenders thoughts?
Orc 1 is better than Orcs 2 imho. Less reliance on traps and more on shooting. It also felt significantly shorter. I had fun with them but never really felt the need to do their challenge rounds or whatever they're called.

Good to see some chivarly love. While great sword and other two handed weapons are king of chaos the morning star is my go to. It makes short work of the knights due to being a blunt weapon and has the reach and speed to take on any other class. I just dont really use it because I want to unlock the other weapons, and it is so hard to get dagger kills.

Play with me I regularly go 30 plus kills with 10 or less deaths but that really depends on the mode and map. Some times smoke bomb bitch gets you the win.

Only thing really rough to get good at is archer you either headshot or get raped, I get TK by more archers than any other class.

Exception being javelin, works as melee weapon too. Sprint toward them fake the throw and just spam lunge it really throws people off until it is too late and they die. Oh and don't forget the one two punch, connect with overhead into a lunge will put down most people with most weapons. Also with friends around stay the fuck away from left click lol.

Ah guess I missed out on Chivalry, will pick it up at the end of the sale unless it pops as a daily/community deal first.

Disagree! I really don't like the tedium that is shooter side on OMD, more traps the better.

This. Only thing I disliked about OMD:2 is the DLC for the ugly as fuck ogre women, good god the horror. SHOOT IT IN THE FACE

They need to automate match making. I'd like to try multiplayer but only being able to invite friends from your friends list sucks. They also need to add stair traps in OMD3.

Orcs Must Die 1 & 2 are some of my favorite games ever. I will say, however, that OMD2 is much more oriented towards multiplayer. If I had not played every level with a friend of mine (repeatedly), I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as OMD1, because the maps are almost exclusively split to the point where it is significantly easier for each of you to guard a different route. I'm not as good at that single player, so it would have probably frustrated me.

If you can get a friend to join you though, it is perhaps one of the most fun games I have ever played, bar none. And they just recently added Steam Workshop to it as well, so now there is player made shit to mess around with as well.

For the money, if you don't buy it, you're supporting terrorism.

New deals are up. Orcs Must die 2 or Dungeon Defenders thoughts?
Dungeon Defenders - 682 hours player
Orcs Must Die - 14 hours played
Orcs Must Die 2 - 8 hours played

Dungeon Defenders has a metric shitton of open ended content built on third/first person action plus tower defense, backed by a multi class levelling/diablo loot collecting. OMD is pretty much on rails with no reason to ever redo anything other than achievements.

OMD was a lot of fun, and paced pretty well. OMD2 gave me the shits, every single mission after mission 2 is designed for 2 player multiplayer, so even though they are doable solo it is all constant running back and forth between two independent paths. Half the fun of OMD for me was seeing the traps mulch their way through an army of orcs - omd2 you rarely ever see the traps in action as you are frantically running around killing ogres, blowing up kobolds etc.

Dungeon defenders is significantly better than OMD2 in basically every way imo. The traps in OMD2 are just so boring and limited compared to DD, and the gearing system is significantly better in DD. I got pretty sick of Orcs after about 6-ish hours multiplayer, but Dungeon Defenders was still fun after 50-100+. Either way, for $4 OMD2 is a great game.

Just as a counterpoint, I tried Dungeon Defenders and hated it, and never understood the attraction. From everything I read it was almost like grinding levels in an MMO.

And for the most part, it seemed like if you didn't play MP it was significantly less fun. Which is the only complaint I have against OMD2 as well.

After seeing, Assassin's Creed 3 in the flash sales, I've decided to buy AC2 and AC:Brotherhood. I've never played AC before and from what I understood, they are the best two of the series?

I also needed to make sure I kept a healthy amount of games in my backlog.

U guys reckon it's worth getting all of Skryims DLC? What is the cheapest you guys have seen Skyrim Legenday edition?
dragonborn is fucking awesome especially if you played morrowind's expansion Bloodmoon.

IDK I played them both through hoping theyd take off but never did. They are nothing like Shivering Isles.
Shivering Isles WAS oblivion. The rest of that game doesn't even compare.(minus Dark Brotherhood)

Yeah, AC2 and AC:B are probably the "best", but the whole Ezio Trilogy is good and you'll want to play AC:R afterwards.

So how is Castle Crashers for 2 player? Been trying to load up on good coop games to play with the wife.

Well I just bought 2 copies. Apparently if you buy it from Amazon you get it for 3.20 after code, and you get 3 free games with it for 16-17th, Party of Sin, Drip Drip, and Ticket to Ride. Couldn't resist.

Complete opposite experience for me and my friends. If someone is throwing around gameplay numbers, mine are:

DD: 16 hours
OMD: 26 hours
OMD2: 49 hours

DD looks like it has more depth, but that depth is deceptively shallow. Since you're playing one class primarily, you use the same towers the same way nearly every level. With OMD, you almost HAVE to swap traps around from one level to the next (less so OMD1, definitely in OMD2). The grind in DD is just pointlessly excessive, and that's coming from someone who maxed all 5 classes in Diablo 3 within a couple months of launch. With Steamworks now for OMD2 and so many other good TD games I can't imagine ever installing DD again.
