It was that way even at release. The temple nearly finished me. Very boring start to what ends up being a true classic.
Picked it up mainly for all the dlc included. I never played awakinings and most ofntueblater dlc on xboxDA:O worth getting on PC if already beaten on 360 during the sale?
I liked it a lot. Played on mouse/keyboard and controller and both were fine. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it's a pretty solid game.
I feel that way about the Baldurs gate games. I remember when Baldur's Gate 2 came and it was being raved about in all the gaming magazines. At the time I was playing EQ and went out and got the game based on the reviews. When I started it up even then I thought the game play was antiquated. I guess those games were really made for hardcore Forgotten Realms AD&D fans and I have never played a game of D&D in my life. Nothing against it but I just never cared enough.Funny, I was just thinking that it was time for a replay of Fallout Tactics, and I didn't own that one on GOG until now.
I wish 1 and 2 were still playable today, but the combat system and follower AI are so terribly archaic that I can't play them after having played other games like Jagged Alliance 2, Silent Storm, and even Fallout Tactics.
I also wonder how many of the people hammering GOG's servers into oblivion right now will actually play more than 5 minutes of any of the games.
I liked it well enough. Was looking for something Panzer Dragoon / Arcade space shooter, and it wasn't bad. Like Tol I used both m/k and controller, no joystick required at all here.Save 75% on Strike Suit Zero on Steam

Looks like sexy Wing Commander-Robotech. Anyone play to say if its any good?
I don't have a joystick so debating if it'll be fun for me.
Is that Fallout 1 only? I know in FO2 you can trade with your goons and can give them behaviors to follow and such. I've only ever played FO1 like twice maybe, because FO2 is just so much better.Fallout is different though. In the vanilla game you can't even change your followers' armor or control which weapon they use, let alone tell them what to do in combat. Inventory management is done by stealing from them. They make great pack mules, once you get past the convoluted method you have to go through to load them up, but if you're careless and give them a weapon with burst fire you are guaranteed to get shot in the back with it the very next fight. They die a lot, they kill you a lot... the AI is just terrible.
I find the BG games bearable as long as the whole thing is modded to run in the BG2 engine. PS:T isn't bad either. It's really just the lack of control over the entire party that makes Fallout such a painful experience.
Mods can alleviate some of the problems though. With the ones I linked in the new thread I made you can at least tell them what weapon and armor to use, and if they decide to block a doorway you can force them to get out of the way (yeah, that's another fun vanilla "feature" I forgot about before). There's still no way to fully control them in combat, at least not until you get to Fallout Tactics. That's more of a strategy game than a RPG though.
If it includes none of the dlc Id say no.I'm guessing not but is The XCOM game worth the $12.50? I've heard bad things about it and the meta score isn't exactly good.
