Thinking about starting this up this weekend although probably will play super casually (I work 60+ hours a week :(). Thinking of trying a Ranger/Shaman/______ trio, any thoughts? Mainly thinking necro as the 3rd, or maybe bard if /melody works here. How bad are rangers in Velious? I know they obviously get a lot butter in Luclin/PoP with the AAs which is ultimately my end-game with playing one.

I play ranger, cleric, enchanter and I'm pretty sure that isn't going to change through planes of power. My ability to tank will diminish in Velious but still manageable for group shit. Shaman is great but some mobs in Velious and beyond may cause you some issues if you need to heal and debuff at the same time. That said, you can always root/debuff on pull.

You have a lot of faith in a team that hasn't put out a code update since last December. Talking about Luclin when you guys don't even have Plane of Mischief yet, hell of a team!

It's easy to put out content quickly when no one cares if it's right or complete.

Since when is utilizing open source software and crediting the developers stealing?

Also it should be the "Titanium Client" not the "P99 Titanium Client" - P2002 has nothing to do with Project 1999.

Per discord updates, they have cleaned up and removed around 10k lines of post pop code from the existing EQEmu Code base. From the post, they are also re-writing the combat system from scratch vs using the combat system that was updated on the EQMacEMU branch.

Rather than trying to troll and incite troll like behavior by attacking other servers, why not just promote yours without negativity? Why is it every "positive" post about TAKP has you somewhere in there attacking P2002? These types of behaviors just make the server look bad when it is coming from one of their "Top players".

TAKP = The Al`Kabor Preservation Server
P2002 = Semi Progression server with a grand goal of Planes of Power, with the majority of quests re-written from scratch and database populated from scratch.

Let each decided what server they want, rather than attacking the (not so much due to client changes) competition. TAKP is in a class of their own currently as they are the only server that is/plans on continuing forward with the EQMacEMU code base.

Someone asked a question about p2002 and I gave an honest answer. Then GG got mad, and now here is another mad anon defending the server. Who are you? Besides someone that's mad. Just kidding Iance, we all know only you can play the victim so well.

It wasn't from scratch. They copied our database which we populated using custom written tools and taking multiple snapshots of AK zones for the vast majority of NPCs in every zone up through PoP. We then gave these NPCs placeholder stats and loottables imported from Project EQ and Magelo. The NPCs still needed considerable work, but the very tedious job of creating NPC entries from nothing and placing each spawn point in-game were already mostly complete.

That you are correct, we did begin with many of the spawn points and npc's created from the original AK pulls.

Do you need more than the standard download package from the setup guide to get things working well? I tried this server like a year ago but didn't stick with it because of the asstastic client. Having read that it's supposed to be massively improved, I downloaded the client again and it feels exactly the same. Alt sticking, shitty cursor, other minor glitches. Are there additional files I need to apply?

Haynar one of the devs recently posted an updated client but it isn't on the wiki yet because it's a work in progress. May want to check the general forum and try that.

Haynar's client fixes all look great. I'm still using a Secrets build because I can't be bothered to undo the Secrets hacks until Haynar finishes.

Ive been loving this server ever since me and my friends joined. We have a squad of 10 level 35s now amongst the 5 of us. One person is totally new to eq and is having a blast.

This client is way more stable than the one that p99 uses imo. The people on takp are also alot friendlier than p99 where you get alot straight up dick heads playing. I got really bored of p99, so boxing actually brings a whole new challenge for me and friends.

My kinda place.

Depends if you care about end game or casual leveling population. Lower levels feel quiet because anyone can three box and accomplish whatever they want.
