I did this a couple of years ago. Those things are designed to cut through sticks the exact size of extension cables. Used the thing for years and everytime wondered if that was the day I would make that mistake.

Now I used manual shears for most of the bushes. Takes a little longer to cut but the cleanup is easier because there are fewer pieces.

The day after Lurking's pic was posted, I was 25 feet up in a tree with an electric chainsaw trying my best not to be her. (stupid branches were scraping my siding :p )
