Can't wait for both towers to be complete in Florida. Launching from 4 towers every week is going to make some space agencies reeeeeeeeeeeeee for sure.

They reportedly are building a 2nd launch tower, so they'll have redundancy in the event the booster recovery fails/doesnt go as planned
Makes sense that's what they did in Contact

There's one tower at Cape Canaveral currently, got to see it in the flesh earlier this year. Pictures don't really do it justice, it's huge. Sensation was a bit like seeing the Eiffel Tower or a Manhattan skyscraper for the first time, you know it's tall before you go but the sheer height of it just hits you.

Earlier this year they said that a tower landing was planned for test flight 5 if flight 4 went well. Considering that this water landing looked like it went like it was supposed to, I could see them going ahead with that plan.
Elon seems to think so, maybe the FAA doesn't though.

I posted this in the RL Photography thread but a friend pointed out that it looks like I caught 2 other galaxies (or something) as well. Anyone know a way to tell what these are?

Looks like the left is UGC 6923 and the right is UGC 6969. Both are Galaxies. Here is a SS from Stellarium, it's rotated *almost* 90 degrees:

3 galaxies, not counting M 109. Maybe a faint 4th.

Hope the timestamp works, neat grappling system on the chinese sample return from the moon

Reminds me of the shuttle grapples on the carriers in the spiral wars series.

Wow they like really shit the bed with that Starliner launch. I read the space where it's parked is only available for 40 odd days.

EDIT: Duh it says 45 days right in the article. Probably a good time to go to bed.
