finally finished season 3, what a very odd season. Had to take long breaks between each episode because I just didn't like so many of them. After the massive momentum and driven focus of season 1 & 2 it was so weird to see the show becoming artsy fartsy and disconnected from any real story.
Still, episodes 1 & 2 were amazing and the finale... Jesus Christ, what a season finale, one of my favorite hours of television again. Motherfucking THOMAS KELLER taught Carmy early in his career and we see it? Goddamn. Some great chefs at those tables and great intimate chats. I like that there isn't any handholding, we know Carmy is super fucked up and rethinking his life but I have no idea what he will do. I can't even tell what the review was, mostly positive I guess with some negatives?
Hope they refocus the show on Carm, Richie, and Marcus (especially Richie) because they really are the core thats the most interesting to follow. I like most of the side characters but they work best as mirrors to show how Carm changes their lives, entire episodes devoted to Tina or Sugar were just a bad idea.
Anyways season 4 was filmed back to back to season 3 so its probably wrapped filming by now, wonder if they will end it there or try to do a season 5
