So a bunch of Green Flash has been showing up at my local store. Got the discovery pack which included West Coast IPA, Double Stout, and Hop Head Red (all imperials). All excellent. Also it was only $16 which works out to be the equivalent of just under $4 for a bomber. Considering their bombers usually start at $8 ea I thought that was a great deal. Also picked up a 6 pack of the Soul Style IPA which I guess is supposed to be like a 'normal' IPA but I thought it fell flat on the hop flavor which is unusual for Green Flash. Also had a 12/26/14 Enjoy By, still think that is the best IPA/DIPA available currently. Too bad WA only gets like every third run of it.

I really dig their Rayon Vert if you find it, but I think that's a West-Coast only thing. Their Green Bullet is pretty damn good too.

The thing about the Lagunitas for me is the price point. It's pretty damn good beer and it's fucking cheap compared to everything else.

Lawson's just started distributing in Connecticut. I have no idea how that happened because distribution laws in CT suck. But I like it.

Just picked up a 4 pack of "Sip of Sunshine"

I brokered a deal with the Bengals bar here in SF that allows us to buy all Lagunitas beers on tap for $3. Leads to excellent drunken Sunday mornings.

Heading back to Cincinnati for the holidays and a shitload of breweries have opened up since I left. I plan on touring or visiting all of them. Rhinegeist, MadTree, Fifty West, Blank Slate. Gonna be good.

For my fellow midwesterners, here is Boulevard Brewing's 2015 release schedule:

A few interesting new products coming out next year, their first pumpkin beer, a rum-based Imperial Stout, a couple new IPAs, etc. I'm also glad to see the Ginger Lemon Radler becoming their summer beer, it was apparenty received well in it's first year of production this year. It's infinitely better than their traditional Zon summer offering.

Managed to snag myself a couple bottles of the limited release Boulevard Crown Town Ale, celebrating the KC Royals run to the World Series this year

Wow, that's quite a bit of new stuff coming out. Guess the merger didn't hurt too bad! I'm looking forward to the Imperial X stuff, and god damn I fucking love Saison-Brett. I hope the Spring Belle is similar.

Love child no. 4 was awesome last year. Hope no. 5 and no. 6 are just as good.

I still have a bottle of Love child #4 in my basement that I've been aging for 3-4 months now. It keeps tempting me constantly. Going to have to bust it open this Winter sometime.

Growler Station has Green Flash East Village Pilsner and Hop Odyssey White IPA... Anyone had Against the Grain - Brown Note? Don't really want any Bayou Teche, Abita, or Schlafly AIPA this week.

Picked up a bottle of that tonight to try out tomorrow. Looking forward to it based on y'alls comments.

Dunno if people in this thread are huge fans of stouts... but Sam Smiths organic chocolate stout is delicious. I drive across town to a specific liquor store just so I can get a four pack every time I do a beer run.

I do like stouts quite a bit, but I'm always a little leery of chocolate stouts or coffee stouts. There's a lot of really mediocre ones out there. I rarely think to myself that a chocolate/coffee stout is better than if it just would have been a plain stout.

A lot of them go way to heavy on the coffee or chocolate (or both). But when those flavors are in balance with the rest of the beer it can be magical.

Really liking this Love Child #4, didn't expect it to be so sour perhaps.... So now I'm more comparing it to Monk's Cafe which is my favorite sour.

Went to Shebeen Brewery here in CT yesterday. Smaller operation where the head brewmaster actually gives the tour and drinks with people while you're there. It was fucking awesome. Picked up a four pack of bombers (Cannoli Beer, Irish Pale, Pumpkin Scotch, and Triple IPA) then a 6 pack of their black IPA, as well as a growler of their plum something something (12% abv) as well as two flights for me and my girl - $35.00.

It was a good day.

Love stouts (and porters). Sam Smith's is good, drank a lot of that the last time I was in London. My personal 'go to' dark stuff is usually Mission Brewery's Dark Seas, Green Flash's Double Stout and Victory at Sea, Great Divide's Yeti variants, Sierra Nevada's Narwhal and Oskar Blues' Ten Fiddy. I'm also a sucker for the big barrel-aged imperial stouts and barleywines - mostly because I hate picking up a beer that advertises 'hints' or 'notes' of something that I can't taste, but the higher abv's don't hurt either.
