Yea I kind of figured it sounded to good to be true when I co-worker mentioned it to me. I guess eating that $50 deposit isn't too bad. I like to go out a lot so I'm saving a lot of money from what I can tell so far by drinking at home more often anyways.

You'd save even more if you brewed yourself and kegged using a corny keg yourself.

So Portland Oregon is a pretty awesome beer city. Food is about as expensive as NYC but beer is dirt cheap, and awesome. Gone to Deschutes, Bridgeport, Cascade and one other I can't remember the name of so far. Apex or something?

Be careful Khane, Apex is a cycling bar but pretty on point summary. Most places during happy hour are 3.50 micros/1.50-2 dollar pabst.

Should of gone to beer mongers across the street from apex, it's a tiny bar with few things on tap but it's a store that you can buy bottles for home or sit and drink while there. Their selection is massive.

I had the Double Bastard last night. A good change of pace but could never be a daily drinker beer. Tons of hoppiness that lingered in your mouth forever. Also at 11% apv I got kind of drunk off just the 22 oz.

Same reason shows like Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz are popular. Bored housewives who think they know more than actual educated people based upon their credentials of having a sex trophy.

Yeah, bored housewives need to feel like they have something to add to a conversation other than "the kids made a mess with the playdough again and I spent 2 hours trying to get it out of allison's hair"

I think it is also the "100 people disagree with me but 1 person agrees" mentality. Some of these nutjobs are just the poster child for the other side of the argument. The side with no proof or facts but a side that exists. So these other morons can champion behind this persons arguments despite this person lacking any credibility.

I love the Heretic Evil Cousin and had seen this one next to it when I pick it up. Even though I drink mostly IPA's now, I have always loved Porters and Stouts so I wanted to give this one a try. I was a bit dubious because I thought it may end up being too sweet, but man it was really good. Incredibly smooth, and just an all around good beer.

My Uncle was inquiring about Pliny for me and they only had one, so he asked what other IPA's they had that were similar and they suggested this one. It's 11.25% APV, and man it is really good. Not sure how much it cost, and I am hoping it is in the $5-7 range like Pliny, because I really enjoyed it.

Chocolate hazelnut porter sounds amazing.

I had a chocolate coconut porter a few weeks ago that was pretty godlike from a local vancouver island brewery

6-xxers of Two Brothers Wobble IPA and Two Hearted Ale tonight. I am enjoying the Double Heart a little better; crisper taste.

Double Heart or Two Hearted? Trying to figure out if it's their normal (albeit awesome) beer, or if it's a small batch I haven't had.

Two Hearted always reminds me of a funny (to me) story about "hoppy beer":

We were at some hipster bar for a friend's birthday, and the birthday girl asked me to get her a beer. I ask what kind and she says something Mild. I bring back a Surly Mild and a Two Hearted, and she picks the two hearted. "That's one of the better mainstream IPAs..." "It's sweet and tastes like it has honey in it". Fucking hipsters man.

Thanks for pointing that out, Two Hearted is what I was suppose to type.
