To each his own, wasn't dogging you about it anyways. I guess I just never cared about the trophies on PSN and they were just a little side thing.

Any of you regret their PS4?

I thought i would cash out for one sometime down the line once my student debts cleared out but has time goes on, the more it feels the generational jump wasnt big enough. Theres hardly any games taking the full advantage of 1080p / 60 fps, either by hardware limitations or devs taking the easy way out. Now a year later, i sure feel more inclined to invest in a normal pc that just dwarfs this generation consoles specs. Especially since most pcs now offer supperb tv support and a ton of steam games that offer the controler option to just sit back in the couch like you would with a console. The hype wore off.

I don't regret it. I've had enough fun on it to justify it. That said, I don't feel it's a must-own yet. I don't have Bloodborne yet, but that seems to be getting really good reviews and is exclusive.

No but it did sit unused for like most of the past year.

That's how all new Sony hardware works though. I was playing ps2 games on the PS3 for like the first almost two years t existed.

You aren't getting a PC that"dwarfs" console specs for ~350, which is what you can get a ps4 for (which usually includes a game and controller)

The ps4 visuals can be pretty great, but most devs aim for higher resolution and textures while capping FPS to 30. If that bothers you then I doubt it will get significantly better over the life of the console

if time and money are a factor imo PS4 is better if you enjoy AAA games, PC is better if you enjoy RPGs, older games (like 2-3 years behind everyone else) or indie games.

PS4 pros
- Bloodborne, Destiny Exclusive
- you can play GTA5 during the holidays, not 6 months later
- no time spent on drivers, config, etc
- you don't have to worry about online hackers, cheaters, whacky DRM (Hardline won't work if you swap GPUs), and a host of other things, you just play
- you can buy a game in store at launch, play 2-3 weeks, trade it in for most of what you paid and just keep doing this forever. Or rent from redbox/gamefly/etc. Cost of gaming can be very low per game.

PC pros
- exclusives like Wasteland 2, Homeworld Remastered, Pillars of Eternity, MMOs, and more indie/bundle games you could ever possibly play
- for FPS everyone is on an even playing field (kbm) - you will get your shit pushed in though if you try to game MP FPS with a controller on PC
- everything is digital (which can be bad if the game sucks and you have no way to return it)

I think it just comes down to whether you really, really, really like AAA 500-team games that are what everyone talks about, or you prefer smaller indie games that are more quirky but unique. If its the former you really have to play them on consoles, the PC ports tend to be messy fucked up things for a long time. If its the latter PC is by far and away the best choice, especially with stuff like humblebundle.com and indiegala.com

I don't regret mine. For awhile it was unused until I got BF4, COD:AW (LOL), Shadows of Mordor, Bloodborne DestinyDiarrhea. To get a beefy PC you're looking at $1000+.

Don't regret the PS4 at all, but this year it's only been used for Diablo now that my wife has started playing it (might be best couch co-op game ever), The Order for the 7 hours or so it took to complete that game and return it to Redbox, and Madden. Madden is on EA Access now so I'm trading that in and the PS4 is now just our Diablo box for the foreseeable future.

Interested in DriveClub whenever the PS+ version drops or a sub-$20 sale. Not taking the leap if they're still not confident in their network.

I have Destiny for it too but lost interest in that game long ago. Other multi-plats we tend to get on Xbox just because it's always on and much more accessible as the primary input for our TV.

driveclub is $30 this week at gamestop ($25 used copy), but imo it doesn't hold a candle to forza 5 or horizon 2 so i wouldn't bother, especially with the free fast and furious FH2 free game coming out next week on xbox

Yeah. The Crew has demo up today too on both platforms for everyone to sample how bad I've read it is.

Driveclub is just a really nice looking game, would like to add it to the collection digitally at some point.

The more simulation-style games I've historically sucked at (impatient, all gas all the time, etc), and prefer racers like Grid and Ridge Racer (any turn can be a 360, weeee). Last night I gave the Horizon 2 demo an honest chance and came away pretty happy with it. That's another title I'd like to pick up digitally, but at $48 on sale it's just not quite there yet. Drivatars even in the demo are amusing, actually makes me want it more.

Definitely grabbing the F&F standalone title.

Why haven't we received our free drive club yet?
They're trying to figure out how to handle the network load and not piss off their paying customers is everything I've seen to defend it. They need to just get it over with, it will he overloaded for a week two and then subside.

I wouldn't be surprised if we just get the full version instead this fall, and are just pitched the DLC as a way to support it if we like it.

Word on the street is $ony & M$ are releasing slim versions of next gen systems in q4 with upgraded CPUs. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony bundled PS4slim with No Man's Sky or other PS4 Christmas exclusives. I'd wait until then if there's nothing you're aching to play.

I could see slim revisions of these pretty bulky consoles, but not hardware upgrades that would only serve to splinter the user base. Maybe if they're done in an unnecessary way like supplementary hardware to support the VR efforts, and current owners would have to buy an expansion kit otherwise, that kind of thing.

That being said, can't say I wouldn't be interested in an upgrade, if that pans out at all

PS3 and Xbox 360 all had cpu upgrades throughout their life. Maybe you are thinking clock speed, but what they usually improve is efficiency of the CPUs and size

No regrets on the ps4. I can play much of the xbone games on my pc and with what is left Sony clearly is better with exclusives. Combined with Microsoft's early arrogance I see no reason to support them this generation.

These days I mostly buy my stuff on ps4 and torrent what is on pc to check things out. I think the last game I bought on pc was wasteland 2 and h1z1. I haven't found much of interest otherwise. I really haven't used my pc all that much there just hasn't been much of interest to me that wasnt on ps4 and with game fly it's pretty cheap to rotate through games. Even mediocre ones.
