Metal Gear is coming out beginning of September. So yeah if they launch it in that time frame it has nothing against it, and it's on 4 platforms....

My PS4 is now rocking a 2tb HD. $107 and 35 minutes and she is done. (not counting reinstalling games)
I will toss the 500gb drive in the ps3 and still have a 160gb external drive left over.

I should have done this months ago.

Plex is working for me, I just don't like using their product. Trying to charge me a monthly fee to stream my own content within my local network is fucking retarded. I was fine with paying a one-time cost for the Android app, which does everything I need it to without a Plex Pass, but the PS4 version annoys me even though I can circumvent their stupid scam with the browser. Plus the PS4 Plex app is TERRIBLE; in addition to what I said above about it not supporting channels, you can't even control the PS4 Plex app from the Android app. It feels like an alpha version that got shoved out the door because they wanted to cash in on Plex Pass subs before Sony finally adds their own DLNA client. The web browser gets the job done though, so whatever.

The only thing pissing me off now is that the assholes at Sony decided not to support the PS3 Bluray remote on the PS4 even though it's just a simple Bluetooth device. It's not even like they're trying to coerce people into buy a new PS4-only remote; they simply don't make one anymore. Playstation App on my phone kind of works, but it's far from ideal.

Wow, such hate for Plex Pass. lol. I pay $30 for a whole year. So $2.50 a month. Who gives a fuck? And have you tried the Plex app on Samsung TVs? Now that's fucking terrible. On top of being slow as shit because the CPUs in the TV are shit, the whole layout is absolutely, as you put it, TERRIBLE. Plus, it has problems with playing sound through some devices other than your TV speakers. Wanted to play through on headphones, and it wouldn't. Didn't google it very long before I remembered I can just use my PS4 for it. Now browsing it seemless, show images, and menus load super fast, and I can use my better Sony Gold wireless headset if I want too! Win win!

I do all of that with the PS4 browser and no Plex Pass (except the headphones, because I use DTS passthrough directly to my receiver), and I can use channels which makes it possible to watch stuff like Community and Other Space from Yahoo Screen in addition to all the stuff on my server.

I guess I'm doing it wrong. In the couple years that I've had Plex, I've never once added a channel? I originally got Plex Pass because it also gave you the Android app for Free. I think it still does that? But it's made watching TV and movies so easy, I don't mind supporting them.

I use my PS4 for Helldivers and thats it - My TV plays everything from my PC through UMS and my 5.1 is connected to that so i dont see the point in even waiting on PS4 to add its own DLNA anymore. However i agree with Vorph on how Plex is terrible, i dabbled in it before i started using UMS and hated it with passion.
