Playstation Experience back again this year, Dec 5th and 6th but this year in San Francisco
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/...san-francisco/

last year it was pretty easy to get free tickets from streamers and Sony themselves, but since SF has a ton of nerds around silicon valley it probably will be better buying them.

also don't buy everyones gone to the rapture, game sucks giant donkey dick. boring as fuck

Yeah, I saw the preview video for the "Everyone's gone to the rapture" game and thought "Hey look, more artsy bullshit trying to be a video game!" Glad to see that my instant judging of a book by its cover was totally accurate.

Windows 10 app updated for 1080p/60fps game streaming, bandwidth permitting, from your Xbox One.

Does it stream surround sound? That's my one problem with Steam streaming. It only streams downmixed audio into stereo.

Worst. Console. Ever.
I ended up getting one because I cleaned house at the Casino one night while messing around at a Blackjack table.

Overall, the games run fine. I am not playing many on it. I have Ryse, Sunset overdrive, Unity, DR3, Ori, Titanfall and a few free to play games I am trying out of boredom. I watch TV through the console now, and that's about it. (And still use the remote - not the Xbox Guide) How in the hell was this supposed to be a media device and it doesn't even support DTS Master Audio or Dolby-HD lossless for Blu-Ray players through almost 2 years from fucking launch? I mean come on. It's fucking laughable at how bad that is.

Too much expendable income

Plus, I want to play Quantum Break. I was hoping I would get some leg room out of it. Once I logged in, I saw a majority of my old Xbox buddies do not even own the fucking thing and are still on their 360. Seriously, do not buy it unless you win free money at the Casino and own everything else anyway. All my AAA games that aren't exclusives will be played on my PS4. The Xbone gets Quantum Break, and some indie titles if they are on sale.

SMITE and Elite: Dangerous are compelling me to buy a Bone.

Both are on PC as well. I can't think of a compelling reason to ever buy a game on console, if it's on PC, assuming your PC is even remotely "current".

friends who have the console and aren't pc gamers, local co-op play is easier on console than PC, launch day game running well 99% of the time, once you are done with a game you can trade it in, and most importantly to me is hassle free online play without having to worry about hackers and cheaters. this year we've had batman arkham knight and Mortal Kombat X both have absolute shit PC ports done by third parties, and both were games I really enjoyed playing. Who knows what the quality of the port of Fallout 4, MGS 5, or Syndicate is gonna be. Mad Max, Just Cause 3, and Battlefront should be good ports though.

some other good xbox one exclusives: forza horizon 2/5/6, sunset overdrive, Rare replay is pretty fun (30 games for $30), gears of war remaster looks cool although its gonna be on PC too I believe, and i guess tomb raider if you really, really love lara croft and can't wait six months. can't forget the biggie either, Halo 5. None are really "must owns" though, although forza is imo the best of the fun car racing games.

Rainbow Six got delayed to Dec 1st too btw

I tried the demo for Horizon's 2. Not to say it is a bad game, but I must not be able to get into them at all because while I liked Need for Speed Rivals on PS4, Horizon 2 for me was boring.

Still doesn't excuse the fact that they were touting the Xbox One as a media center for ages, and it doesn't have support for the most basic component of media entertainment for audio.

I am mostly adopting my PS4 over my PC now for most everything. Least common denominator development has taken over 99% of the time - and as you said, the PC ports for some of these games are absurd. I have pretty much caved in continuing to expand/refresh my PC Tech every 2-3 years when the majority of those games are getting shitty ports of console games anyway that seem to never take true advantage of the power. Plus I am beginning to think that PC tech products are becoming a sham. Especially with high level product tie ins with high end graphic cards. Much easier to say screw it, turn on a PS4 without any work and just fire off some games.

There was a time when PC fidelity drove consoles to be better. Without the software support for that, that doesn't hold true any longer. Now the PC is being looked at by publishers (For the most part) as "Hey, can I port this on the cheap and hit the PC target market as a bonus to what we sold off on our console targets?" If the costs align, done. If not, they could give two shits. 1) It will probably get pirated anyway. 2) They have a console install base they can target well over the size of the install base of PC gamers that can run their games effectively anyway.

I almost never buy games on launch and also never trade games in, so I guess those are fair points that I wouldn't consider.

I've been doing this for a long time now. I'd rather buy a $400 console that lasts 8-10 years and has great games than worrying if my graphics card from 1 year ago can handle a game.

I can live with the less awesome graphics.

My PC is currently sitting without a GPU due to lack of compelling exclusives. We'll see if I care to upgrade when Pascal comes out.

The only things that could possibly make me do it are Overwatch, EQNext, and Pantheon.

Specs are out on what the new Metal gear will run at.

1080p60 for PS4
900p60 (Upscaled to 1080) on Xbox One.

Once again, the clear victor (if you have both systems) will be PS4.

All that is well and good. The reason I'm on ps4 instead of Xbox despite never owning a Sony console before was the other ass hattery they performed in addition to moving their focus away from gaming. I doubt my eyes, hell even most people's eyes are good enough to see the difference in 900p vs 1080p in full action on it's own. Even side by side which no one does.

Microsoft deserves all the shit they've gotten. Must hurt watching that USA market share tumble.
