Got a PS4 Pro now, and they seem to have fixed the downloading speeds from PSN.

With the old PS4 (and the PS3 for that matter), I always had issues with slow speeds when downloading. The speed could be bumped up somewhat with using the google DNS servers instead of the default ones (EDIT: manually set the PS4's network settings to use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS), but even then it went from using 10% of the speed to 50%.

With the PS pro, I have done nothing except the "easy" config for the internet connection, and it is maxing my speed similarly to Steam. Have a 100/20 connection, so Steam usually clocks in at 12-13mbs. FF 15 is 50 gig and takes less than an hour to download.

PS4 Pro is currently $340 on Amazon.

some pretty good cyber monday deals already started. as mentioned, 15% off everything at target today and amazon is price matching a lot of stuff including PS4Pro for $340 and Dualshock 4 (new) for $34. Best Buy is selling PS4 Pro for $399 but it comes with a free Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition ($80) and you can try to price match it in store with amazon @ $340, altho they will likely shoot you down.

Best Buy is running a promo, checkout using Visa Checkout (can pay with any credit card) and you get $25 off $100. It scales down with 2 games, so 2 $47.99 games get a $12 discount each in one order. I placed a dozen orders for all the upcoming pre-release games, two at a time, and will be paying $38.xx+tax for each which is great. If any get the $10 pre order bonus promo that'll drop it even further.

Obviously only works if you have GCU, otherwise the discount isn't nearly as appealing.

$340 for PS4 Pro, good price. Local Target in-store pickup. Bought one from Gamestop on Wednesday, because it looked like it might have been the best deal. Will be returning sealed PS4 and Destiny bundle later this week.

Ready for FFXV.

Unfortunately FFXV won't be ready for the Pro until mid-December. I almost bought one but that combined with the fact that SQEX seems uninterested in patching WoFF to work with it changed my mind.

Only thing missing is the 60fps 1080p patch running on high. HDR and the high graphics setting (4k) are already in.

Ah, that's the only part I care about so I guess I glossed over the rest.

replaced the 1TB default drive in my PS4 Pro today with a 2TB FireCuda, went even easier than regular PS4 but they moved the drive from the top front to the back bottom left, kinda interesting. Might be my imagination but backup/restore seems faster than on regular PS4, took "only" 3 hours to backup (vs 5 hours on PS4) and doing a restore right now, took 7-8 hours on PS4.

Final Fantasy XV reviews seem to be say its a pretty decent game, 86 at the moment on metacritic. I bought it digitally so still 10 hours for me

Jfc, offerings have been shit tier since the month after Rocket Leagur, but this... never even heard of a sigle one of these.

I think I recognize VVVVVV from speed running marathons, but yeah not something I would play personally either.

IIrc he bought a killer gaming rig and almost all multiplayer games are available on and better for PC. I'm doing the same in a month or two and I'll be making the same decision about PSN.

Yeah I built a crazy gaming pc, although I planned to continue to keep my ps+ active because I still do console game frequently. I don't play multi-player on it right now though and the free games are garbage.

Yeah honestly I'm still probably gonna use my PS4 more than my PC due to all the exclusives, but I look forward to playing a little WoW and XCOM and the like
