I sold mine for $170 about a week before PS4 hit. No games.

I'm not surprised the value is high, lots of demand. There are plenty of exclusives people missed having only the 360.

Ya, I guess I just didn't anticipate the demand, and so now trying to pick one up, I'm with everyone else trying to get a good deal.

Just an update on the Sway vs Bone race with context.

In the US:

X360vsPS3is 62% vs 38% (68.5 million units)

XB1vsPS4is 48% vs 52% (4 million units)


In Europe:

X360vsPS3is 43% vs 57% (58 million units)

XB1vsPS4is 33% vs 67% (2.5 million units)


Global:

X360vsPS3is 50% vs 50% (or more precisely 49.6% vs 50.4%!)

XB1vsPS4is 41% vs 59%



I think the important things to take away from these numbers are:

- The PS3 was not nearly as dominant in Europe as the X360 was in the US, but now the PS4 dominance in Europe is even greater than the X360's in the US.

- Considering the generation gap between the Europe vs US units ratio, it seems Microsoft and Sony are focusing on North America (which is really critical for Microsoft). It can also be argued that recession in Europe is a factor, but considering sales records were broken, I am not sure it's a good argument.


PS: There are more PS4 than WiiU in both the US and Europe.

Still, all the idiots that spewed bullshit about xbone being a gigantic fail this generation were totally wrong and should be called on their bullshit. Both consoles set records with sales and both are doing extremely well and will continue to do well. Sadly i will have to probably end up buying an xbone as well for my kids because its what all their friends are getting. And although they are making new friends on the ps4, some of those xbros are RL friends they go to school with.

IMO XBone is a failure as it has failed to fully recapture the same audiance that it had... but I would never say the thing was joing to pull a virtual boy or jaguar64 - Microsoft bought their way into the market with the xb and are most likely willing to do it with the xb1 to keep their market share around 50/50.

PS4 has done good in reclaiming what it lost from the ps1/ps2 era with the ps3... Just as a general what I see in stores- as of late an XB1 can more often be found sitting on the shelf awating to be bought moreso than a ps4 and even wiiu- during the holiday season and shopping I saw 1 wiiu 1 ps4 and about 5 xb1s throughout the season. But thats just me wondering around and one person. XB has always been more available- that helps its adoptions- if someone where to wonder into the store and just get a game system for themselves and dont care, or gift etc- whats there is whats going to be bought.

This generation is 2 months old and if there was adequate supply of the PS4 the sales gap would be much larger, because they're not meeting demand. The gap is going to increase as time goes on.

The Xbox vs PS2 numbers are pretty tough to compare to the following two generations considering the Xbox lasted 8 years and the PS2 13... but it was 23% vs 77% in NA and 11% vs 89% in Europe in the end. If anyone has 2005 numbers to give a better idea...

The 1 year gap + price difference were major factors in it. The PS3 did catch them dead even in sales eventually, but there was a big gap for a while.

If that ratio in the us holds then yes the bone would be a relative failure. Not a complete failure but certainly not going very well.

Now some of the predictions here are pants on the headed retarded but losing that kind of market share to Sony is just another in a long series of Microsoft blunders.

Given the ps4 seems to be in more demand those numbers might expand in Sony's favor even more.

And it's very possible (and probable) that the gap will continue to widen. It's not good news for MS, especially when there's important people wanting to dump the division.

Has anybody gotten Plex to work through the PS4? Or have any other ideas to stream from PC to PS4?

Having a pretty tough time getting it to stream over the PS4 browser, but I've seen videos of it working online.

And if you had been right you would be saying "See I told you all my doomsday predictions were going to be true". But hey the usual cliche "I was just joking, not taking it serious" is cool too.

I agree its probably not want microsoft wanted, but they had to see they were not going to do as well this generation based on reactions from unveils to release. Every public reaction and opinion was pointing to the ps4 being the more popular console this round, so I hope Microsoft did not think would take the lead this generation(at least this early).

It did a lot better then I thought it would though.
