Last gen started hitting the point where graphics are only getting better by small details though - I still think that we'll see better stuff on PS4, but how many people are going to say "OMG! This smoke is so much better" - I know I'll notice, it's why I own a PS4 and will only own an XBOne if-when I see an exclusive I care about - but already there's people out there that can't see the differences. And with more "slight details" being added I can't imagine that's going going to get worse.
PS4 is still the huge winner, but I just can't see it not getting stuck doing small tweaks because of TV limitations.
You're wrong, Vaclav. The gap just isn't going to close like you think it is. There are serious hardware limitations that aren't going to be overcome and the Xbone isn't going to magically do the same resolution & fps as PS4 games in the years to come.
Also, people can tell the difference. Tomb Raider DE outsold the Xbone 2:1 on the PS4. Almost every single multiplatform title is selling higher on the PS4. People do know and understand that there are "better" versions of games.

Well there are 2:1 PS4s to XBOnes though aren't there, roughly speaking? So it's just in line with what should sell.
And those are CURRENT ONES that people can tell the difference on right now. I'm expecting the rift will not be as drastic and for it to be less noticeable to people down the road. I could easily be wrong, but after 360/PS3 generation we've seen how the tables can begin to shift - I don't see anything that will allow it to overtake PS4 though, period.
Xevy: I'm not turned on him, still a big PS4 fanboi or whatever you want to call me - just don't expect it to continue to be two laps ahead. Remember some people said 360 would always stay leagues ahead of PS3 and we saw how that turned out. I have caged expectations that my investment in a PS4 is still wiser - just not the ridiculous amount it is right now.

No, there are not 2:1 PS4 to Xbones. That was US January hardware sales that was 2:1. Overall it was like a 52/48 split in the US as of the end of December and now it's like 55/45 maybe.

Btw Vaclav, my original "parity" comment there today was mostly aimed at the idiots who thought that third party developers would *downgrade* PS4 versions of games to be identical to the Xbone so that there would be parity.

Meh, who cares. I went the PS4 route but if there was some compelling titles for the XBone, I'd buy that system too.

The only comments I've even had in this thread was owning UT when he said both consoles would be everywhere on Launch week, and destroying Sean on his Plasma vs Computer Display argument for the best gaming display. That was so much ownage it had to be removed ,and moved back to the TV thread.
Also I've waved the PC master race flag so many times here that I've been sent to the rickshaw repeatedly.
Don't confuse me with thinking the consoles are any good, If I could get all exclusives on the PC I would never buy them again.

I could care less who has the most powerful console right now because I own them all. I buy consoles for the exclusives, and PC for everything else.
If the PC fails in supporting a competitive game, and it has better players I'll crossbuy into a console, but I always buy PC first with no questions.
If anyone gets gimped its the PC crowd getting shittier looking games because we are so far ahead of the console market.
