these episodes are written 6-8 months before filming and not just "dropped" in, it was all planned over a year ago. It'll probably become super obvious next week when Boba and Mando team up.

I think the theory that eventually Boba Fett will acquire the darksaber (beat mando in single combat I presume) and become the leader of Mandalore makes a lot of sense, since Boba's pauldron symbol is the Mythosaur, which the Armorer straight up said will be a sign of Mandalore returning to greatness. Din Djarin's symbol is the Mudhorn.

Wouldn't be surprised if Boba Fett shows up in season 3 of Mandalorian, probably the Pykes have taken over Mandalore too so its all connected.
I don't disagree but let's be for real - no fucking chance old slow weak ass boba fett is beating Mando. (as they exist right now)

With how this episode was directed, they should have just given this show to Bryce Dallas Howard over Robert Rodriguez, she seems to get what to focus on and what the audience wants. Rodriguez just likes his weird Tarintino lite shit like the biker gang horseshit. She also direct two eps of Mando as well/

So when does the bad batch show up?
They would be quite old at this point, probably around 65-70 years of regular aging. They had accelerated aging like all the clones except Boba and Omega. Don't think they would make much of an impact haha.

I got the sense the manic mechanic lady had to work with the meh script she was given because you can tell when they let her roll with it and just ad-lib and she wasn't bad. The part where she talks about dating jawas won me over. "Furry....so furry".
Best part is when she mentions she dated a Jawa and one of the Jawas there says something and she's like "no that's ok I'm working on me for now". Never thought I'd see a Jawa dating sim in the Star Wars IP, but here we are

didn't expect the entire episode to be mando but it definitely following the outline of this show so far.

First introduction of the show was post credits(?) scene after mando season 2, boba and fennec kill bib fortuna and take over Jabba's throne room. That set the premise for the show.

Each episode of the actual show has been "few minutes checking in on what boba's doing current timeline" + majority of the episode being flashback sequence filling the 5 year gap between him falling in the sarlaac and him killing bib fortuna. They also introduce an ally or faction that he's adding to his team for the eventual fight vs the big bad for the shows conclusion. Fennec, Tuskens, pet rancor, Gladiator wookie dude, power ranger cyborg kids, syndicate families, etc

As the flashbacks get closer and closer to current timeline each episode spends more time on current timeline and less time on flash backs. They also spend more time developing the allies he's making.

Only exceptions so far is they killed his adopted tusken tribesman in a later episode (to give him motivation for revenge? character development, whatever) and they didn't start this last episode checking in on "whats boba doing today" before focusing on Mando.

They needed more time for Mando, not to develop him as a character (he has his own show and already is connected to boba) but because they had to explain what happened to mando after season 2 and why he would be free just chilling on tatooine to be available to help boba.

Last we saw him he completed his quest to find a jedi for grogu (so he should have returned to his cult and chilling with them), acquired the dark saber, and lost his space ship. It would of been weird as fuck if he just randomly appeared to help boba for the final episode without explaining any of that first.

Also think he'll end up being around tatooine so he can run in to a Obi Wan in his show, who will teach him to control his emotions better so he can actually wield dark saber.

Yeah, Mando is set 9 years after the Battle of Yavin, a little after Obi Wan shrugs off his mortal coil.

Do not feel bad. I also thought that there would be a tie in to Obi Wan until I remembered that Boba Fett fell in Return of the Jedi and since this story takes place after that incident, it took place after Obi Wan's death. Luke could train him. Not sure how that would work out with CGI and all...

HUH I thought he got beheadded in the prequels? Or was that his "dad"?
all this takes place years after the second death star was destroyed and the ewoks massive orgy as the rubble from it came crashing down. thats why no more Vader, we got Darth Gustavo

who? are you talking jango fett? that's boba's "dad"

sort of...

jango was the template for the clone army and as part of his payment he was given an unmodified clone that he could raise as his son. the rest of the clone army was modified in a bunch of ways to make them function as better soldiers, including sped up aging process so that they could be combat ready in a handful of years.

jango was decapitated by mace windu in attack of the clones

but that's the only idea i have of who you might be talking about.

While there are ways to survive, I do think it is generally understood that loosing the head ends your character. There probably is some character that somehow survived a head coming off but I cannot think of one.

It's his clone dad that lost the head.

Only five years.

Those scars are still fresh with the Imps.

And the families of all the Death Star subcontractors.

I think they cancelled this game because so much of it contradicted the new canon. Looked amazing tho:

Oh yeah. Duh. I do expect some kind of tie in though. Maybe they find some maguffin on tatooine and then in the obiwan show we find out obiwan had some part in it. Only so much a hermit can do chilling on tatooine for years

That Obiwan show is likely gonna be 90% flashbacks.

The opening and closing scenes will be shots of Obiwan wandering the desert, checking up on Luke and trading with Jawas but the bulk of each episode will be a convenient way to rehash all the Mandalore/Bo Katan stuff, crimson suns/Maul, Thrawn stuff in live action format. I suspect it's all in preparation for whatever they're planning to unfuck the movies.

They might have Darth Maul show up just to die, that would be cool. But I'm getting the feeling Kenobi and probably even Andor are all just a clever way to reshoot Filoniverse into live action Disney+ properties.
