Hah, that was great. I even forgive the Deep for shitting up this season just for that moment of hilarity during ultra-violence.

Something fucking strange was going on for sure.

The look on Butchers face at the end was kind of strange. I dont know if he knew something or was just stressed about what just went down. Even Homelander looked confused.

Does Butcher reach his final form now that Becka is free from the kid? Maybe now they can re-unite and she joins him in hunting supes because she hates Homelander. There is only one episode left right? The trailers were either very misleading, or there is some crazy shit going down in this next episode.

Why would he pop A Trains replacement tho?

It was implied that the head Scientology guy had already signed a deal with Vaught/Gus to remove Shockwave and bring back A-Train and The Deep. Obviously, Shockwave getting killed, polled the best in focus groups for the story of "convincing" A-Train to come back.

If you watch that bit again, Shockwave doesn't get popped until after the PR lady starts yelling that the superheroes should do something, though I can't imagine how anyone could come up with the conclusion that this was anything other than a Vought coverup.

As far as Butcher, that could be him realizing they can't legally take the Supes out, and it's time to go with the comic route.

gus is the head popper right?

I don't know, the guy was going to testify against Vought and then everyone's heads started exploding. You'd have to think that looks worse for Vought than whatever the old guy had to say

Actually, Burns is right, the Deep checks his own head hasn't exploded at that point, so the head popper is likely someone in the church. Given that Stormfront previously said she was a member long ago, it looks like the Scientology parallels will be literal, as they 'promote' normal people to Supehood.

Whats up with the Archer dude angle and the church? Im thinking the Church is behind the head explosions.

Also, I thought the opening montage was very well done, even if extremely heavy handed. We got some quality intel from CIA lady on the Boys. She called Frenchie "Serge" and MM "Marvin".

I believe Stormfront is linked to the Church somehow with the e-mail thing, or Vought and Edgar, who is linked to church, who is helping protect them.

edit: Also the Seven porn dvds were fucking gold. Shit was hilarious! Starlight takes the A-train with like 7 black dudes lol. Then the one before they leave with the guy saying he wants to take THEM ALL AT THE SAME TIME! LMAO. And the Indian guy who got shot was named "Cool Deep Singh" looool. They do a great job with the humor in this show, probably the best part about it, besides the violence and gore.

So, once again they show the limitations of Starlight. They show Homelander's concern about keeping her alive and Stormfront countering him.

I swear if there is not a Starlight goes phoenix against Stormfront moment in the next episode, I will be sad. They have just had to much story involved up to this point not to have that moment.

Episode was a little slower than I thought it would be but the ending was choice. It does appear that the Church is indeed involved with that ending given the reference's about getting Atrain back in and Shockwave getting removed. I agree that the last moment with butcher was the recognition that doing it by the book was no longer going to work. My prediction for last episode:

The showdown between Starlight and Stormfront and the boys(Maybe not all of them) get jacked with V.

Not sure what to make of the head popper. Definitely doesn't seem to be homelander or stormfront. Being a church agent also doesn't make much sense, because why would they be there in episode 1, though the church-guy's comments are obviously meant to bring suspicion on him.

Logically he'd need to be present to use his power, but supes so maybe fuck logic and he's some guy at home playing the head crushing game. I guess we'll find out next episode if the head crushing continued or stopped when the feed cut.

It has to be someone working for Vought at this point...

I havent gone back and watched the first head popping episode yet, but I'm struggling to find a single (known, revealed to the viewer) common thread between them.

Was there a single person present at both events? I can't think of one.

The second event was televised so you could argue targeting via TV, but the first one wasnt televised, it was like a back alley meeting or something, wasnt it?

Cindy is still on the loose and presumably pissed at Vought, but during her escape from Sage Grove or whatever, head popping didnt seem to be her MO. I mean, she popped one head, but she also did lots of other stuff with her power. Seemed more like a general range of TK attacks, ripping stuff up with TK, etc.

Great fucking episode in any case. I like how they're slowly getting more obvious with the Scientology Fresca. Shit is everywhere now.

Probably not. It was supposed to be a little private meeting. That said, there may have been a spy camera or some other surveillance. I think the commonalities between the two events point to the power being something that can be used remotely (through a camera?), and the supe doing it probably being a vought agent. The deaths in general are probably a win for vought in total, so it's the most logical assumption.

nah. its a "shooter" movie scenario. Kill your target, and some randos including voight employees. Claim its the act of a "supervillain".

The biggest hole in the whole vought agent theory is that killing your opposition right as they are about to give damning testimony looks pretty bad no matter how you slice it.

Waaaaaah. Muh trump.

Every single fucking thread with these general forums crybabies

Everyone shit on him when he started with the Trump stuff. But that opening scene was cringy and heavy handed as fuck. Really, a fat neckbeard, who lives with his mother, watching hateful memes and soundbytes goes and shoots an immigrant? If that doesn't warrant an eyeroll nothing does.

Stop being so fucking sensitive about completely legitimate criticism. Hollywood is so deep in their bubble that their caricatures of what they oppose are comical at this point. That was grade A retarded. Up until then their satire has had some nuance and subtly. That though? No.

Oh it was totally heavy handed, and completely low effort. And went from, as you said, subtle commentary on pretty much every advanced society that has ever existed to herp derp America.
