Holy frell. That tweet. Jesus. This movie is probably dead in the water to me based on it.

Yeah that's some of the worst SJW promotion tweet shit. But don't let it not let you watch a movie. It's definitely not a "black girl saves the day" movie.

I'm a sucker for Cloverfield stuff. I loved the movie. No doubt i'm in minority but I watched it 2-3 times in theatre. So i'm looking forward to whatever this is on Netflix tonight.

Well, at least this makes the connections between Cloverfield and Lane make sense.

I was confused before because one involved a giant monster from the deepest parts of the ocean and the other

Aliens with space ships

As soon as they stopped with the cool weird shit it got less interesting and formulaic. I enjoyed the first 2/3ds more, like others have said, however I felt the last bit was just more of the same old
“stop the crazy one”
bullshit that these movies tend to descend into.

Would recommend if you like science fiction, but it isn’t great by any means. 6.5/10

Yeah that's some of the worst SJW promotion tweet shit.

It's like you guys don't even realize that SJW became the acronym for 'shit I don't like.' But hey, not supporting something because you don't like the format of a fucking tweet is a mark of a distinguished individual.

This is the third in the franchise, going to span 7 movies before 2024 ends, 4th is coming this fall right now called Overlord, finished filming already, and the 5th is rumored to be the new daisy Ridley and jj abrams movie, could be wrong on last part.

it's a nice little dues ex they created because dude said using that power thing could fuck shit up in the past, present, and other realities/dimensions. So the events of cloverfield and lane could have both been in completely diff dimensions, separate from the two dimensions we saw in paradox.

Nice! I have been a huge fan to this IP since the original Cloverfield. IMO, both 10 Lane and this one are nicely done.

It is also interesting to see all these movies act like an addons / side stories as direct opposite of sequels. Definitely looking forward to more!

This is a movie that was made and then they cut in 10secondsnat the end to connect it.

Just like 10 Cloverfield was a finished film they built an arg around to connect it

It’s hollywood bullshit

Movie was not bad. 5.5/10. SJW Shit was not overwhelmingly present like the crazy tweeter claimed. Had nothing to do with Cloverfield other than another shoe-horn. At least it did not feel like it was a huge re-shoot like 10 Cloverfield Lane was.

Finished it, didn't hate it. Thought it was typical sci-fi fare which I'm honestly okay with given how shitty some other movies have been in the genre. Third act definitely weighs it down but honestly it's not as bad as you guys are making it out. It's just stereotypical space catastrophe stuff that have won some pictures oscars. Thought it was well done for $25M and the straight to Netflix model for things like this should become normal if this has enough initial viewership.

If for nothing else, watch it to set the precedent. You've watched worse.

enjoyed it, got a big "WHOAH WTF" from me at the end. I kept expecting some prometheus level squid-worms and "man turns into zombie" shit so defying those really, really simple "plz don't be stupid like Ridley Scott" really helped. Same as everyone else, first 2/3'ds was great, last 1/3'd was ehhhh but whatevs. I'm glad I watched it end of the day, coulda done a lot more and the actors were all B-tier but it was a fun ride.

its a good movie to test out HDR/4k/HDMI stuff too, I streamed straight off my LG netflix app and got 4k/HDR no problem, then tried xbox one and ps4 and no problem either, downloaded a HDR/265 encode and got to try out various connections to see what enables HDR and what does not work. DNLA off pc streaming works fine, only one that didn't work too hot was PC to OLED over HDMI.

Not sure if I could say if I enjoyed this or Bright more. Both 6/10 movies, charming and bad in their own ways. If this cost $25m and Bright $100m though... Bright wasted a lot of money.

i really don't get it, like spronk said, pretty much its kinda the same feeling w/ bright, both are just ok, 6/10

why are critics hating on it???

i'll tell you why, both of these movies are Netflix releases, that means no special movie critic advanced screening, that means the movie critic job is useless.

its like mcdonalds replacing the cashier w/ a robot screen

I'm sure some portion of that if them being salty at not getting any kind of early screening/review time and it just being widely available out of the blue, that easily makes sense. But lets be real, neither of Bright nor this movie are the kinds of movies that will ever review well, on average. B- scifi/fantasy films will always be dumpster tier reviews.

Which I just don’t get... not everyone wants to watch Wes Anderson films all the time and posit on our existential existence and how it relates to the framing of a scene. Sometimes a movie can just be unexceptional but entertaining.
