We have some Bengals fans in the group, right? How did Terrence Newman play last year? I know he's one of Zimmer's guys. We picked up him and Taylor Mays both. Mays is one of those guys I always liked in video games because he's probably the most athletic defensive back in the league, but he's never put it together as far as I know. At least Vikes are targeting positions of need before the draft. That's a good sign especially for a team not looking to spend a ton.

Nah, they just need a warm body and a snack. The former is there as Cassell, the latter, well, I would raid Rex's desk.

People freaking out over Redskins hosting Mariota. Because you shouldn't host the top players in the draft and do your due diligence when you're drafting in the top 5. Because Redskins.
They'd be stupid not to. If anything just for bargaining power in trade talks. This way they can use the "I don't know he looked really good in our workout we're really thinking about taking him. Sweeten the pot a bit."

Newman is good. He has lost speed (obviously, he's old) but still has very good instincts for the ball. Unfortunately for him he would have lost his starting job to Dre and I doubt we were willing to pay 2.5M for a backup CB. Expect him to get burned deep but able to swat away quick routes.

Buffalo would? Why? Based on what?
Cassell, Manuel, Horton or whoever the heck is up there. Based on those scrubs.

RG3. Great 1st year? Good 1st year? Breaks leg or whatever the fuck happened to him that damn game? Looks like crap the following year, like they all do after a major injury...Brady/Manning included. He gets hurt again. Looks like crap.

This dude will only be four years in, and we have seen one healthy season from him. That one season, he looked fantastic. If he gets the fuck out of Washington, and on a team...fuck a DECENT team he will be great again. Well good.

You all are underestimating what RG3 will be worth on the market. Any coach that can keep his ass in the pocket and pass will look like a genius when he shines.

The fact that RGKNee is a terrible pocket passer might complicate this plan.

That's the thing. The teams that would want him are ahead of them, or too far away in the draft to make a move. Who outside of Philly and those ahead of Washington have shown interest?

EDIT: The Jets. They ever show interest? Or they sticking with Geno the disaster Smith?

I don't know man...That 1st year he threw a pretty looking ball when he was in the pocket. 20/5 TD/INT 65% completion. I'd give an early 2nd late 1st for him. I can't find stats of what was in vs out the pocket for pass completions, but I remember seeing no less than 5 games with him and Luck and they looked awesome. I'd say RG3 looked better IMO. (NOT NOW before yoll start it up)

I don't think he will ever be a good pocket passer, if he is facing pressure. He was sacked 33 times last year which was more than McCoy and Cousins combined. 9 of which he fumbled, again more than McCoy and Cousins combined. It's also more than clear he is not the running QB he once was. He just isn't that great of a QB.

What do they have to lose though by spending the afternoon with the guy? There is literally no downside. Fuck maybe it'll make it so RG3 stops trying to whore himself out for endorsements and actually reads the playbook.

Personally I would only give a 4th or 5th for him. No way in hell I would give up a first. I guess we just disagree on his worth. His fundamentals were terrible last year, wrong form, wrong steps etc.
