I'd be curious if Titans passed on Mariota. Their coach is suppose to be a QB whisper? It would make me question that pick a little more.
It sounds like they're going to pick him and then try to trade him. Whisenhunt likes big pocket passers but I am 100% in favor of trading down if possible and Mariota doesn't fit the offense. If they pick him and keep him it will be really weird, because it's entirely possible the coach and GM are gone next year with a new owner.

I personally want a defensive lineman but I don't think that's going to happen at this point.

I heard a rumor about a possible trade of Colin Kaepernick for Marcus Mariota. If the 49ers are really in full on rebuilding mode next year it might make sense.

Well I don't think they would lose much by trading Kaeperbro. Particularly since they will probably be awful next year.

Well... what is kaep making this year without bonus? If his cap hit aint bad for the next few years why not build your D back and pick up fresh skill players?

Kaep is a shitshow. I'd rather take the unknown of Mariota than the "I already know he's average at best -- but probably actually below average" Kaeps

Even if it costs you...3 or 4 early round draft picks? Fuck that RG3 noise

The 49ers peaked and declined so fast... It's like the bucs in the early 2000s. Or the jets in 08 09 10. When your team starts sucking due to bad drafting and free agency it's time to look for more than a franchise qb and coach. You need to change up who's picking the groceries

Trent Baalke is in his tenth year in San Fran. Why? How?

It has nothing to do with drafting. Aside from one year the 49ers have drafted really well.

Must be hard to be a 49'er fan, that front office is just a shit show. Sorta hope they give away the farm for Mariota just to see the results.

Dion Jordan out for the year for another substance abuse policy violation.

Diluted test sample counts as his 3rd strike. He will not appeal.

49ers drafted so terribly that their coach bailed and a some of their best players quit football all together.

It would be interesting to see how things would of played out if they had kept Alex Smith.
Honestly? I doubt much different. The Chiefs haven't fared any better and while they may be worse on OLine, they have a world beater at RB. Other positions on their roster vs. 49ers is just playing tit for tat. About the only area where the Chiefs might be way behind in talent level, is possibly at the WR position. However, Boldin is old (despite being a 3rd down monster) and Crabtree was barely a #1 WR on most teams (and hurt most of 2013). So, it isn't exactly like the 49ers were throwing to Jerry Rice II.
