If he gets in to the top 10 rushers(1,200ish to go) he'll have a good shot. Rushing yards still mean something, it's not a totally devalued stat like passing yards. 12 of the top 14 are in, including Bettis. And the other 2 are LdT(lock) and Edgerrin James(good bet).

Gore, weirdly, doesn'tfeellike a HoF guy. I think he just didn't have a real high workload to accumulate stats for individual seasons. But it's extended his career.

if he got that ring 2 years ago in the Har-bowl i think he'd "feel" like an HOFer. His stats are great though, maybe not first ballot but I agree he gets in

A couple weeks ago, Jerry Rice was part of Jim Trotter's look at the evolution of NFL gloves for wide receivers. In the video, they discuss the use of stickum, and at the 1:13 mark, Rice says, "I know this might be a little illegal guys, I just put a little spray, a little stickum on 'em, to make sure that texture is a little sticky."

Gore reminds me a lot of Curtis Martin and Fred Taylor. Not necessarily in running styles, but in the trajectory of their careers. You never heard any of their names mentioned as one of the top RBs in the league at any given point, but year after year they just keep collecting 1000 yards seasons. Doesn't help that all of them played on crap teams for a good chunk of their careers.

All are very underrated.

I mean yeah he definitely put his foot in his mouth, but you can't pretend that the gloves they're allowed to wear now aren't basically the same as stickum. No way in hell Odell Beckham Jr makes that catch against the cowboys with his bare hands.

I hope no pats fan poking at jerry now actually thinks he is tainted in any way and I don't think they do, it is just a good opportunity to point out the widespread hypocrisy that has gone on in the latest scandals with former guys pretending they are squeaky clean and never pushed the boundaries while they stay stupid shit about current players.

Except we have no way of knowing that. It is the same side of the deep end with people pretending like they never pushed shit to the edge. I will agree it would have been a heck of a lot harder but to say impossible, I wouldn't go that far. It is the same thing as saying if Seahawks ran Lynch they win the Superbowl. We can debate it all day but we will never really know.

Except there is no debate, if they ran Lynch they would have scored. It's possible they still could have lost, but they unquestionably would have scored.
