I'm not going to say I've seen every game the guy played, or even every Seahawks game this year. But Byron Maxwell is a stud and Seattle just got worse.
Truth. We did, Byron Maxwell is a helluva corner. It sucks we lost him though not surprising.

All these people leaving the 49ers make me wonder if some of it has to do with that teams horrible office. The Superbowl or GTFO out types are ruining the team.
It has nothing to do with the FO. Smith still isn't 100% sure on retirement, but even if he does, it was fairly expected. Gore was another one that was possibly gone to FA, because you can't pay a back his age what the eagles were offering just out of some misguided sense of "loyalty".

The only " shock" has been Willis retiring, but I'm not really sure what you can do about a guy wanting to turn his life over to Jesus full-time.

well the pats tossed money at revis and browner last year(mostly revis) and overall, i'd say the payout was worth it, both played great and overall made the D better- enough so that they could shut down a team and allow the Defense to win the game instead of relying on the offense like the past several years.

Defense Wins Championships(usually-there are occasional exceptions) IF you have a decent to good offense that can score ~20 points or more against -most- teams.

This isn't actually true at all. It's more like: Defense can win championships.

I don't get the highlights. Is that supposed to be the good defenses that won? The Saints defense was really good the year that they won. The Ravens defense wasn't that great in the 2012 season. Wasn't the GB defense pretty good the year they won the SB too?

I just highlighted notably good defenses as best as I could remember. So like Saints, GB and Colts didnt make the cut because the D wasnt the best part of the team. Brees, Manning & Rodgers were.

The Patriots this year i highlighted because the defense improved and suddenly they win one again.

Either way we're discussingdodefenses win champs orcandefenses win champs, and it's a ridiculously semantic argument that I've unfortunately expounded upon.

Saints D that year was lower middle of the pack. They did, however, sit at or near the top in takeaways. They won mostly by blowing out their opponents.

There was an article that Im too lazy to look up that averaged the offenses vs defenses for SB winners and it was something like 6th on D vs 8th on offense, pretty much a wash.

And people remember things based on the teams identity rather than stats. Like 2012 the Ravens offense was 10th and their defense was 12th, and the won a SB in a shootout 34-31 vs SF. The Steelers D in 08 was the best in the league but disappeared in the SB and we had to win on offense on the game winning drive

That might be the most subjective evidence ever used to further an argument in this thread. "Just highlighted notably good defenses as best as I could remember..." Fucking lol.

i think you're just thick in the head.

so those teams did NOT have notably good defenses? got it.
