Apparently the Colts are trying to fuck Trent Richardson out of the three mil they'd owe for outright releasing him. Drama of that shit aside, anyone know if this kid's worth a roster spot somewhere? I recall his rookie year he had some good runs for the Browns and generally looked big and nasty out there when I saw him play in person. We are in need of a back, wondering if he's worth it if he can come pretty cheap. He's still only twenty four years old, could be one of those players who is getting tossed aside but could produce in the right place.

I think technically he could be fine. He runs with a ton of power, but either doesn't see the holes created or has bad blocking. Could be a head case. I think with the right team he would be a better than average back.

Actually there was speculation about whether or not McNally was the attendant that disappeared into the bathroom with the 12 balls in question for Deflategate. I assume we'll find out it wasn't, but still this is actual evidence of someone on the Pats sideline attempting to get a non-approved K ball into the game. Separate matter from Deflategate, but still bad. Good thing the official noticed it.

I am still hearing rumors all over PA that Chip 'Ditka' Kelly is going to go all in for Mariota. Would have to get that shit from the Bucs to be sure, either the Bucs or Titans going to snap him up, and that means trading pretty much the whole thing. I wonder if it is real or if Chip is just stoking up some draft day smoke and mirrors.

I'd never take one of those QB's in the first round. Same with a running back (speaking to the Richardson stuff above). Give me a traditional pocket passer like Luck, Ryan, Rodgers, etc, or I'd wait until the 2nd or 3rd.
Top 10 pick, lineman. 11-20, linebacker or DB; possibly a can't miss receiver. 21-32, BPA.
Late 2nd round for a TE, but preferably 3rd. RB no earlier than 3rd.
Otherwise 2nd/3rd rounders on depth linemen, DB's, and LB's.
I'd get my receivers in free agency.

I assume you're generalizing, but you wouldn't spend a top 10 pick on a Julio Jones or an AJ Green at receiver? Also there are some Tight Ends I think would be worth a late 1st on.
Agreed in general though how much focus should be on the lines in top half of the 1st round. Agreed on RB's, agree in general on most receivers, outside of the few ridiculous prospects.

As far as a top 10 pick for an AJ Green/Julio Jones/Dez Bryant type player, I'm torn. I really see that as a luxury pick. If you're the Broncos of the last two seasons and your team is fucking stacked, and you somehow had a top 10 pick...ok, go ahead and draft one of those guys. But for most teams picking that high, you've almost undoubtedly got issues on at least one of your lines.

I can sorta buy this. Even as much as lines are valued now, I still think they should be valued even more (assuming deep draft/value for the pick is there). But I think those type receivers (remember too that Bryant was a late 1st round pick due mostly to character concerns) are worth 1sts.
