No idea why unless he had a purple with really good perks. FAMAS was one of the worst ARs I had at L8, and handled like shit compared to the (blue) Police M4 you could craft. And at L30 nothing compared to the CTAR and P416 that I had after doing the invaded mission. M60 was my favorite LMG (and gun) by far though. I got a high end one to drop in the first room of the invaded mission and it made the rest of it completely trivial (even on the sharpshooter who only has MMR perks on gear). Shredded both the robot dogs and the yellow-name minigun dudes in less than one mag, which is pretty insane compared to every other weapon I had.

I was thinking about ways to exploit the low DZ cap too, something like that definitely has potential. Especially after seeing how fgts who spent the whole weekend in the DZ had full purples while I played a shitload of LZ beyond completing everything you could do in the beta and I was pretty salty that the one and only purple I had came from the White House vendor. If the black tusk mission and small area surrounding it didn't drop so many HEs I would have been considering not getting the game at all after seeing the loot disparity between LZ and DZ at level 8. Fuckin' PVP ruins everything.

Also, keep in mind that Snowdrop and a few other new engines have really spiky cpu loads. You can be monitoring the load on a core and have it jump up 20-30% extra load inbetween the cycles of whatever you're using to monitor it, so that 75% load might really be jumping back and forth between 75% and 100%. Also, don't rely on task manager's processes tab for cpu usage. Use Resource Monitor (link at bottom of performance tab) or a monitoring program like afterburner/hwinfo etc...

Think I'm going to pass on this. Playing a few hours of the OB was just...boring. Would have been nice to play this from the 1st day.

Anyone listing specs while talking about CPU usage needs to include what FPS they're running at or it's pointless. The CPU load increases drastically the higher FPS you go. Someone running at 4k but capped at 60 fps is going to have nowhere near the CPU load as someone with uncapped FPS or running a high refresh setup.

We tried all kinds of shit in the game. Capped, uncapped, set to 60, set to 80. Windowed, fullscreen, etc...etc... He was running on 1080p screen so capped at 60 should be sufficient, but it still did not work, his shit was constantly 100% CPU.

I blame the game. something is fucking up. Since no other game does this on his system. One caveat, I did not check to see what version Nvidia drivers he had. At the time I just assumed he was downloading the latest. But I could have been wrong.

Either way my system,(ran at 30% utilization while playing) although newer, has latest drivers since Anthem release.

Nvidia released new drivers today with a fix. The combination of the game using 100% CPU and Nvidia container spiking and fighting with the game for CPU cycles is likely what caused the freezing issues. 1 day to late too test it out, unfortunately.

Thats really good to hear.

I still wonder why some sytems were effected, yet others not. I even had some dude chime in on another forum that he had the same setup as my kid and he had no problems at all.

Because you and he were running different driver revisions most likely. I usually upgrade my video drivers every 6 months or so. Some might be running earlier driver sets that this didn't happen in - and the next driver set the bug rears back again - and fixed again in another driver set. Meaning, driver revision lottery if it happens or not.

Yeah, this. ^^ Also, there's a lot of moving parts. Windows settings, Nvidia Control Panel, in game settings, third party programs (afterburner etc). The workaround back when this was causing issues with Div 1 was removing one core from affinity settings and lowering the game priority. (EAC prevents you from doing this in Div 2) This making the game run better doesn't make much sense and leads to the assumption that it's just shitty code. Since I can run Div 1 fine on my shitty cpu, I figure the game will use all available cpu juice and is fine with that, but if anything else wants some of that sweet juice it freaks out.

I didn’t know there were non-lefties who used something other than WASD. It makes sense in games with higher than average key bindings I suppose but those games are few and far between these days.

Either way it’s retarded to lock people into any keys on the PC.

I can't think of a situation that WASD doesn't give you more than enough hotkeys. 12345qezxcrtfv` and rebinding capslock system-wide and then modifiers, not to mention mouse keys. But yeah, hard-coding keys is some 2000's era shit that has no place in PC gaming.

WASD is what I learned in the doom days when we had that shit running on our unix stations at work in the 90s. And I guess it just stuck. My figers just naturally hug those keys like a 14 yr olds hands wrap around an xbox controller.

This is fucking awesome.

Bye Bye Anthem. Bye Bye Destiny.

Looks like (At least on Paper) Ubi figured out a solid end game with tons of content.

I love the deck approach. Reminds me of the 2003 war in Iraq ;)

They are estimating approx 30-40 hrs to reach lv30.

I think im gonna take my time in this one and just take it all in, seems to be a ton of content before you reach endgame, and then once you get there another ton is opened up for you.

Dont get me wrong, im gonna go hard, just not skip shit.
