I’d also ask what OS, drivers, bios revisions, etc.

Mine ran really well in the beta, I have a 970 from a few years ago. I'm not running at 4k or ultra settings but I had no graphical issues/slowdowns.
Yeah my shit ran perfect, same as you, about 30%-40% CPU as well. i5 9600k, 1070gtx not sure but the extra cores seem to really help, lol?

Im hoping they optimize this a bit more, but if not im ready to pick him up a mobo, ram and new proc too. He plays a ton of PC so its worth it for him. Call it an early bday gift, and then we can play this shit together. Its kinda sad because I just built this thing for him a few years back.

I would troubleshoot his current rig before a new combo build. Should not have ANY issues.

What CPU are you running?

i5-4690k, win 7. I play at 1920x1080 without any of the PLUS ULTRA bullshit.

In the above post I'm definitely hitting the 1080p/60fps benchmark which I'm fine with. I could probably play at 1440p but have 30-40 fps which is not acceptable to me.

Damn man, I wonder WTF is up with my kids system then? He should be running this shit top notch with his i5 6600K and 1070gtx. Again the 100% CPU utilization while playing the game kind of worrys me.

I doubt it's his comp.

Try windowed 1920x1080?

The last time something like that happened to me, I ran a fresh install windows on a second HD, fresh drivers, updated BIOS, and never had another issue. Dragged everything from the first hd that I needed onto the 2nd. I got tired of doing hardware troubleshooting. If it still happens in this environment, then you know it's definitely a hardware thing and not a weird driver/bios/software setup issue.

Maybe go to the graphics options and limit his frames to 60 FPS? Could be trying to pull more than needed.

we tried everything, even went through his startup processes and trimmed everything down, went into game and turned shit down then the game was running fine, but still at 100% CPU.

I guess I could try a fresh install. Its a teens computer after all. LOL

Oh shit, I jsut thought of somethign I did not check, to se if his GPU drivers were up to date. Would this make that big of a difference?

It...could? Depending on how old. But still, a fresh install getting rid of all the porn trojans and having the gfx/other drivers ready to go in a fresh windows environment is a good troubleshooting step that may just fix it. First update the drivers using the clean install option if it's nvidia.

One of the streamers I watch ran into a memory leak related to a tesselation setting. Is that even a setting? I don't even know wtf it does. Pretty sure that's what he said.

Tessellation is handled via the GPU - it gives a 3D effect to textures.
