Okay, watched Gamebreaker TVs "Twimmo" this week and even Jason Winter agrees this will likely be the most disappointing MMO release of 2014. Is there a NDA still in place? Everyone hints at TESO being really awful but no one specified more than "HeroEngine lol".
Just looking for some solid facts. Regarding the article linked here Massively claimed Neverwinter - which I think is a 6/10 - the "Most Underrated MMO in 2013" so I am bit irritated. Also they voted "Best Studio 2013" SOE. Well not a single fuck was given about the EQ2 Veeshan Expansion everywhere but hey, we know that "Next" will be le hot shit because, well because they said so.

Can't say if it's underrated as I've never tried it but to be fair there wasn't much competition in terms of 2013 MMOs, especially underrated ones. Maybe they should have just said there wasn't one worth mentioning this year.

NW just released a new module and the Ranger class. Tempted to give it a go as I've been looking for something to play for weeks.

There wasnt much competition in 2013 for new MMOs, so Neverwinter getting a nod is not that unlikely I guess. 2012 had GW2 and Pandaria, 2013 Defiance(?) and Neverwinter...

FFXIV being a relaunch doesn't count I guess. But it's probably the best of 2013.

I havent played that in either version, but I guess it should count. Maybe they didnt see it as underrated. But who knows, and I guess in an ideal world nobody would care about gaming news sites awards anyway.

The only thing keeping Neverwinter from being a medium-decent game, as opposed to a barely mediocre one - is whoever the hell lets them release exploit-ridden content. Everything they've done, every single thing, has been filled with holes and exploits that get the shit abused out of them before they get patched up - if ever. That crap with the Guardian Fighter armor that let fighters one-shot damn near everything, that lasted a fair bit of time before it got fixed, and that wasn't even the worst of it. I don't know if that's internal testers or what, but they goddamn suck terribly at their jobs. From release day to now, even their winter event got the shit exploited out of it for a day or two (the fishing portion of it was dicked up somehow) before they shut it down for a few hours. It is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. Sure, almost every game has the same kind of problems, but I've never heard of so many so frequently as with Neverwinter.

And it's sad, because the game is fun, it's different, in my opinion it looks great, and it gets pretty tough for its endgame dungeons (assuming you do them right and don't cheese your way through the bosses with various unfixed exploits). Probably deserves the Most Underrated title of the last year, or at least to be in the conversation.

There is no doubt, though, that they will look like Nostradamus predicting TESO the biggest flop. I feel like that narrative has been set in stone and it will take an honest-to-god, the devs start playing it on their lunch breaks, this will really turn it around for TESO miracle patch with zero brown to change it.

New Q&A up about Cyrodiilhttp://elderscrollsonline.com/en/new...thing-cyrodiil

I liked this info:
Are there PvP ranks? If so, do we gain more or less Alliance Points depending on our rank?

There are 50 PvP ranks with 25 titles and grades. When you rank up, you?re worth more Alliance Points to enemies who manage to get a kill, but you won?t earn less for killing lower-ranked players. You?ll get more Alliance Points for killing higher-ranked characters.

Can we see the names of our enemies? Can we see their rank or level?

You can choose to enable nameplates for yourself, allies, and enemies. An enemy player?s rank is displayed symbolically next to their name when you have them targeted.
This was a big one for me

Glad to see whoever over at Zenimax that was super anti-nameplate has either caved or been silenced.

I don't give a fuck about nameplates, what bothers me is the entire PVP rank, alliance point bullshit system.

Have fun farming alliance points...maybe there will be tokens for gear rewards too!

In all seriousness, I felt that the nameplates were kind of a big deal as well. You couldn't tell what was going on or who was who. I don't know if not having them is supposed to add to the fog of PvP war or what, but it was goddamn stupid they were not there. Of course, there are many other big deals that need to be addressed, the nameplates being least among them.

The nameplate thing is huge

This just went from 'no way in hell' to 'pre-ordered for me and as a Christmas gift for every human being I know''

what i see in that Q&A is that they are going to get 3 sides into zergs and have them mindlessly rush each other. What boring pvp.
