Talking shit about a site called Betacake is wrong and despicable now? What happened to the internets and when did we become civilized?

Someone should make a Betacakepie.com site that scrapes the forums/frontpage and posits it on a new website.

Yeah, I get it, this is the internet and people do that all the time so it's ok to lie and just generally be a fucking moron because well like you say.. everyone does it. /rolls eyes.
That is the most pathetic excuse for shitty behavior there has ever been. That won't stop people from continuing to do it, but I have never respected anyone that partakes of it.
I don't expect people to suddenly overnight get a sense of honor, but just because everyone else is a moron doesn't mean you have to be too. There are people who act better than that, and those are the people I respect.

He seems to be indicating that it will be up again in a few hours. He told people that if they couldn't wait then they could post it to the private section, whatever that is. Of course, the birther/911 truther contingent will use that as evidence that aliens ate their mmo.

The Teso updates including a new wildstar one are one the private forums that you need a super secret unbreakable password to access. Along with the story of why they are there and not the frontpage.

in the forum that anyone can access. I assumed that meant that the info was coming back. I don't have access to the supersecret section, and don't care enough to get access. So if that quote is wrong then I don't know whats up.

Yeah I know. Betacake is pretty shady and have very shitty behavior. They have developers using them for viral updates posting as regular beta players, then when called out on it they decide they need to start tracking IP's and front up a quick forum site.
Not much you can do though. So unethical marketing continues.

Do you believe PR firms exist that grassroots these very forums? And others? Or do you think that is a conspiracy theory too?

I'm at work, I log onto facebook to chat with some chick and there's a message there from the admin of the webhost that I use (yes we're friends on fb with him).
Long story short, somebody, had filed an abuse report directly to the webhost asking for an immediate removal of pretty much all the TESO content. They even reported the posts which had official videos and screenshots in them.
So I rushed home and while trying to remove the posts, I was also doing some file editing on the ftp where I was setting up the forums (nothing to do with the teso posts). And I deleted an extra file which made the whole thing go kaboom.
The posts are still there, just set to private, which gives a 404 if you look for them.
What happens now is simple. Website stays clean, while we can do the dirty on the forums.
Keep the word down on this and only post in the private sections please.
I'm going to do the same for WildStar, just to be on the safe side.
Sorry if I'm letting you down in one way or another, but its just not worth taking the risk.
With all that being said, one must wonder: Why are they going out of their way to hide the game?
Minimum gameplay released, watermarks everywhere and going on a crazy witch hunt for leakers.
All this smells fishy to me. No. Actually worse. It smells like SWTOR.

Well so much for UT's super conspiracy PR propaganda theory. Sounds like the PR firms instead used the litigation nuke option on BetaCake and he probably doesn't have the money, will or lawyers to fight it.
