Sounds exciting.

I never said that. I said 75% of the content added you could consume in 15 minutes. I should clarify I meant whatever mini game they added or whatever jumping puzzle went in, or whatever event. If you want to talk about a whole patch, I'll be generous and say any average player with a broken mouse could consume it all in three hours. (HEAVILY dependent on the patch. Three of those are bullshit patches with little actual content added) in which case an entire months with of patch is over in half a fucking hour.
Come on. Stop with the selective quotes, I also said I enjoyed most of the updates.

Again, since you haven't played any of the the updates you have no fucking idea what you are talking about. None of the udates can be fully consumed in 3 hours. I never finished any of them and some I spent days playing. But I'm not a completion freak either. I just do the stuff that I enjoy. Completing them includes the achievements, titles and all the special skins. For most people that takes days.

I'm going to stop now. Go actually play the game and try some of the updates over then next couple of months. Then get back when you can speak honestly and knowledgably about the subject.

simple fact is that gw2 is free, so any content they give is bonus. The fact that they've added more since their release than wow has added since pandas is pretty damn impressive imo.

It's called snowball arena. If I recall you join it in Lions Arch. It's fairly simple, you just drop in with a bunch of other players and try to take over objectives. You can decide what role you play I think, don't remember if your class matters. It's fun and not too complicated. Try it, it does only take about 15 minutes to master, but if you are like me, you'll turn around and hours have passed. I get caught up in PvP sometimes, even if it's just a cheesy snowball fight.

The fact they make more money from the cash shop than a strong majority of subbed games speaks otherwise to where their priorities are going. Course you can always ask their employees how those bonuses are that Mike never gives them.

As much as I enjoy reading the back and forth about GW2, this is the TESO thread guys. Argue about GW2 in its own thread...

I could care less if he pisses on his employees. If they produce a good game ill play it.

They make money from the cash shop because people enjoy the game and want to give them their money. Not because the cash shop gates any kind of progress in the game. (Because there isn't any, lolz!)

Well, since we've got nothing to blame upon TESO these days, we might as well blame it for NCSoft's shortcomings!

Also, they backpedaled, and are now saying this is "multiplayer Elder Scrolls", and are trying to bury the Massively qualifier under a citadel or something.

(aka no end-game content whatsoever save doing the other 2 factions quests, and some RvR action)

Generic fantasy MMO with tamriel wallpaper.

Instead of legolas or drizzt variations you'll probably just see a lot of xXarrowinthekneeguyXx

Actually you probably won't, because even if it does eventually release...

For me, that is exactly what pay to win is. Other than it has been really blasted out there in the mobile game arena.

Any time you can purchase or short cut to get items or levels faster by not playing the game using real world currency, it devalues the game and undermines the value of said items for those that obtain them "in the game" through normal designed means of completing content.

Obviously, our opinions differ. And that's ok too.

Edit: The only time I would ever be ok with it is if the items able to be purchased in an online store are of lesser value than those that can be obtained in the game. When they become of equal or greater value (No matter by how much) that's when it gets a little ridiculous and devalues the point of playing in the first place.
You can buy gems with RL cash, 800 gems for 10?. 100 gems convert to 3g (price fluctuates), so you buy 24g for 10?. A legendary weapon costs about 1200g or more depending on skin/type. So you are looking at a modest 500? investment for a weapon that offers a tiny stat boost and no real game advantage.
In that aspect it can be considered P2W if for Win you intend not actually playing (as beyond obtaining a legendary there is no long term goal at all in the game).

It's one hell of a grind, for sure, but so is going to work instead of playing. One customer uses time, the other RL money. I don't particularly like this, I purchased gems for bank slots, character slots etc, but will never fork money for gear. When the only goal is to obtain it, spending money to stop playing sounds stupid to me.

P.S.: I'll likely never get a legendary, but I'm fine with that. I'll probably be playing another game in not too long (EQNext?

If they do this right, that's all I want. We'll see.
You'll get what you want I am guessing. Except it won't be persistent, and the war will "reset", either by you wanting to play with a friend or group of friends and switching to another instance of the zone (there by completely rendering any sense of in going war useless since it's fake at this point) or whenever they reset all their instances. What you want is a persistent DAOC RvR game, and that isn't happening. This will be Call of Duty RvR without any repercussions in a persistent world because it is now instanced / copied over and over based on a player cap.

It's also now going to be buy to play. Ala: Defiance.

Sucks. I would love to see a real persistent on going war with real objectives, hard locked to region or time zone servers (Without ANY instancing) with true objectives to fight over which overlays into PvE.

I'll say it again..

Zenimax "Hey guys, you know what's a great idea? Let's take a SINGLE player franchise that's beloved for it's exploration and PVE and focus our end game on PVP!!!"

Don't get me wrong PvP in is great but the end game focus of this franchise? Farrrrkk me. How does a group of functioning people agree on this shit.
