So what counts as something 'good'? What do you want?
I'd still qualify the current show as "good", it just isn't really in that, "new episode, fuck yeah!!" territory for me anymore. The show started the downward slide around midway through season 4 for me, however. But, a lot of people said that book 4 was the weakest, so I'm sure the source didn't help the show at all.
I mean, obviously Amos is still fucking badass despite them doing everything they can to make his character as boring as possible, Alex is still one of my favorites when he isn't being a mopey dad (I still don't get the hate for Cas Anvar - I think the dude has done an amazing job of developing that character from a mostly timid, unsure of himself pilot into someone I
believe is a total badass pilot when he's on-screen), Holden has that total Superman/Paladin vibe(somebody you fucking hate because they are a total boyscout, but in an ironic way, sometimes actually admire that they are that steadfast with some of their ideals/moral compass) nailed, Averserala is probably one of the most believable "badass" women I've seen put to screen since Ripley, and has been said, the guy playing Marco is totally fucking nailing the "rockstar" terrorist vibe.
The show only really suffers for me when Bobby and Naomi are onscreen. Unfortunately, the last 2 seasons have pretty heavily featured both, especially Naomi. I'm just finding a lot of "nitpicky" shit wrong with the show lately. I think the quality and attention to detail has clearly gone down since the Amazon takeover - although, it could just be an issue of the source material not being as great as well(I don't know, since reading is for nerds). Which is why I asked if the Princess Leia scene happened in the books. Apparently it did and they can try to "science" excuses for it all they want, but that scene was fucking retarded.
