Meh, fuck you bro. It is difficult to get relatively healthy food from restaurants period, much less drive through fast food. I like my salads. Tossed, if possible.
But I agree about the berries. not even aamina could get down with that.

I have kids and am generally in a hurry, no excuse but it is why. Going to the store to get what I need and then going home to cook it is time consuming and more expensive. Hitting the drive through, the only one that offers anything remotely healthy, is convenient.

Most places just put MP on the menu so who knows what it costs today.
This is going to be an expensive example, but Chicago Cut Steakhouse has Alaskan King Crab legs for $69 a pound on their menu. Surf and Turf is $85. Broken down its $38 for a petite filet and $47 for a lobster tail. It might be two tails but they will be tiny I'm sure.
So there you go. The sausage king can provide his own examples as I wasn't speaking of wholesale cost like if I wanted to go to Supreme Lobster or some other fish market and buy it myself.

Chicken w/Asparagus & Mushroom Sauce and Brown/White rice = less than $5 a mouth.
Getting kids to eat Asparagus etc on the other hand could be tricky so I feel you here, as much as I can feel as I don't have kids nor am put in a spot where I have to choose between Healthy and Convenient.
Wendy's Chili as posted a few posts back seems to be good value for the Convenient:Health ratio when it comes to your issue.
I'd imagine sub-sandwich shops fit here well also, especially the ones that offer the sandwich in a lettuce wrap. Minding the condiments of course.
Salads on the other hand are increasingly deceptive, they offer little to no nutrients or protein and entirely too many fats and oils.

That's a pretty awful blanket statement to make about salads. You can get salads that are filled with meat, nuts, cheeses, and various kinds of vegetables. If you're worried about oils and fats (which I don't think you really need to be in most cases), you can always go light on the dressing. Sure, some salads are basically bowls of lettuce with oil poured on, but most fast food places offer a range of salads that include a wide variety of ingredients that up the nutritional value, including protein.

You're right it ranges, sorry for the cold blanket. I meant to say that it's increasingly difficult to tell which ones are decent and which ones aren't at the drive-thru.

Yes, you definitely need to do some research (or use common fucking sense) when ordering fast food salads. Lots of them come with fried chicken tenders, fried corn tortilla chips, and other calorie bombs. Your average American stupidly assumes that salad = healthy/low calorie, and gets fat. I have a higher opinion of our community members here, however, and I know we all do our due diligence before ordering salads.
Aren't the salads dry when you do that? I always have to ask for extra dressing because otherwise I feel like I'm eating a dry bowl of ingredients.

Any more dressing, and I feel like the lettuce/spinach/whatever is just wet and slimy. It is fairly dry, but use good ingredients, and pair them well, and it doesn't need much, just a hint of extra flavour.
But, to each his/her own. I know I'm in the minority on this one.
